US Special Forces are tough. Each branch is a little different and all will claim they are superior to the others. But SEALs, Rangers and Force Recon Marines all go through very tough training to make them superior combatants. If you want to talk about the toughest though, you might want to take a look at Israeli Special Forces. Those guys are not only well trained but as brutal and merciless as the land they live in. Nearly 60 years of constant warfare has made them very hard when it comes to combat.

The U.S.Army has the toughest training, all you Marines can stuff it by far the only thing the Marines do different is swim in a pool, and in the Army OSUT they make you swim in and out of stuff with ammo cans.

The Amry has a few levels of how hard Basic can be, from IET to OSUT and AIT. lets say a person who wants to drive trucks in the Army, they would go to IET then AIT, it's hard but not as hard as OSUT like a Combat Engineer.

The Army spends more money per Soldier then any other Military inside or out of the US.

Unlike the Marines or Airforce were if you work hard and want to be in but might be shy a few points on a PT test the Army will fail you, then you can be kicked out or sent back to day one no matter how much you want to be in, this gos on the whole time in, if you cant be all you can be they start by taking your ability to go up in rank, then pay and or rank, then they kick you out.

The Army gets the best of everything and when they use most of the life up of the tool it gets sent to the other branches of the services. The marines had M60 tanks in the 1st Desert Storm, while the Army had M1As this is just a start.

The Army has the money to drill and do things, the other branches dont, its that easy, I seen so many Marines swtich to Army because they never got to do stuff or got to sit on a ship or open doors.

The Army is the Strongest fighting force on this Green Earth, they do everything, if you feel i'm wrong in any way about this please let me know by contacting me.

Marines Airforce and Navy pass BRM by shooting at a NON MOVING target, for a Soldier its tragets moving from 50 to 300M away, who whould you rather have with you in a foxhole?
The Army was first, it was never known as Washingtons Marines it was his Army, his Soldiers and they have been in every war in every theater of combat, NO other US branch has!

Ask a Marine or Seal or PJ where they did Airborne, they do it at Army Forts.

The British Special Air Service is probobly the most elite unit and trains and advises other special forces units around the world but if you are talking about general infantry units you have to look for those with most recent military experience in a combat zone. USA, Israel and Britain all have the best training and experience.

Israel has a tough program. Lots of urban training, desert training, and actual fighting.

For WWII I do not think the training was as important as production/manufacturing. But the US had pretty tough training from what I hear from the vets.
