Maybe you should rethink your enlistment. Most people join the military to SERVE their country. Not just the people in the country that they like.

You will find that you will never meet a better type of people any place else then in the Military, sure some people are ***** but you get that anyplace.

Joining the service is just that a "service" to others who cant or support the US in other ways or are coward who live life off the backs of people who care, you know the "democrat party".

Its the best thing I ever did with my life, and despite what happend to you at home, you will trust other in the military with not only your gear but your life and in turn you do it for them and in the end you will look back and be happy and proud you did.

It's a great way to live, some people are not cut out for it and I think some Americans have forgotten what freedom is but America needs people who step up to be counted.

No other greater honor in life can be had then serving.

You're not. The oath you will take is to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Not one word about you putting your life on the line to ensure those jerks have their freedom. You will return from your basic training, look around, and wonder why you even hung out with that crowd. Even on these message boards you can't avoid the whining and snotty questions and responses from those who have never been there and done that. A British author may have discovered the secret of the U.S. a few years ago. That's the growing number of people who are masquerading as adults, while they're still mentally in 7th grade.
As you begin your life in the Air Force all I can say is "Welcome to the World of Adults".

You could have been shot working as a night clerk in a 7-11. Yes there are scoundrals and thieves everywhere but if you are letting that question why you are serving, maybe you need to grow up a little. What you think everyone in civilian life that you are protecting is honest? And worthy? Look at the oath of enlistment. Just because everone else doesnt show honor, doesnt mean you need to act the same way.

Exactly, I spent many years in the service and I've been out of the service for almost 10 years. I have never been so repulse to see this type of behavior in our society and if I had to take it all back I would of never served. As a matter of fact, I am thinking of leaving this country. I just don't have the cash at the moment. To your question , don't do it, is just another job but you wear a uniform. And if you do, you'll see just as many jerks stealing your stuff, because I had my stuff stolen in the service by one of my roommate.

By the way, people who comment that you're not an adult or this or that are the same people who don't give a ----. As long as their life is peachy, they will speak as individuals and not people who care.

First, Air force is really not that dangerous. You work 9-5 most days, and never walk around enemy lines.

Second, It's absolutely worth it. You picked a good branch of the service-as it is the safest, and the skills you learn are lifelong things you will call on over and over.

I was Navy and can tell you, It changed my life for the better when I got out.

Worth what? One joins the military to serve his or her country, support and defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.
If you feel that is not what joining the service means to you, then perhaps you are not a good candidate for our Air Force.

The fact that your father, grandfather etc etc put their lives on the line means that you can ask that question. Some people choose to be assholes yet you have chosen to be a man. I live in England. My family lost several members during WW2 both in combat and by German bombing. I know that my life and the life of my wife and daughter would have been very different if it wasn't for them. People like you guarentee the future of you nation. Good Luck.

Yeah. Well we should take all these bad guys from jail or the pen like they do in the movies - soldier them up and send them all off to war for us. Hey, maybe then we would have been in and out in two weeks.
