Whoa.. I was just reading about that issue today in an abnormal psychology book. It claimed suicide can be contagious. Someone does it at suddenly others are tempted, mostly teenagers by the way. ...anyway, it is normal but don't follow through with it. Seek help, go to the school pyschologist or call a help line. Suicide doesn't solve anything. I know a cheap line like " it doesn't solve anything" doesn't mean much when you're feeling at your worst but it truly is the best advice .

No, hon. It is not normal. It is called suicidal ideation. It means you should make an appointment to speak with your doctor as soon as you can, OK? It IS normal to be depressed after such a terrible loss as you have experienced. Just take the healthy high road on this one and get some help through this. I repeat. It is not normal to have thoughts of suicide run through your head. You take care of yourself right now as though I am the husband or little girl or little boy you will have someday and I am asking the fine woman and wife and mother you will someday become to take GOOD care of yourself right now. Promise?

You need to seek counseling. It's perfectly normal for you to have those feelings and their are professionals who can help you through this. A suicide can be a traumatizing thing for anyone to have to go through. It's important to remember that this wasn't your fault and that you don't have to repeat your mothers mistakes. You have a long and happy life ahead of you. It would be a shame to end it so early. If you aren't quite sure who to call, try the suicide hot line first. Even if you aren't sure you're really going to do it. Tell them about your mom and ask if they know anyone who can offer you counceling.

Don't worry, thoughts are just thoughts. It doesn't mean you will act on it. I'm sorry your mom didn't seek help but it doesn't mean you are doomed to follow in her footsteps. I think most kids think about it at least once in a while. Part of that is from all the hormones that are going crazy in your body when you're a teen. Eventually those hormones will settle down and you will feel better.

It's normal yes to have those thoughts time to time. I'm so very sorry for your pain. I strongly suggest looking into www.stresscenter.com
They have a wonderful program to help with depression/anxiety/panic so on and so forth.
I can't imagine how you feel and you are not abnormal for feeling this way but when you are up to it you need to address your feelings. All the best to you!

i,m aboriginal and the thought of suicide in my community(reserve)or small remote parcel of land is a big question amongst our people.we have seminars on the subject with no real forward progress.living conditions play a big factor.so if your living condition is to blame then you better seek mental help...at least your aware of your thought process and your heart.take care
