A really cheap one so you won't cry too much when it's confiscated. Check the back of your ticket for any prohibitions about photographing or recording at the event. If you ignore this and your camera is confiscated its unlikely you'll ever see it again.

Please remember that the performer owns the Copyright to their music and their image. Recording the performance or photographing it is a violation of Copyright law. Have I ever taken photographs at a concert? Of course I have, a long time ago. In today's world performers are much more protective of their Copyrights - remember the napster issues?

In order for any camera to take low light photos it will need a "fast" lens (f2, f2.8) and a high ISO - probably 800 or 1600.
Using flash will be pointless unless you're within 10 feet of the stage - and Security will notice it and take your camera.

fhotoace has a good point! A LOT of shows that I've been to, camera weren't allowed! Few were. My friend has a new Sony, it's very slim, but over $300. I don't like Sonys though. In my past, they've gone to crap on me. I have a Canon SD1000. It's not too slim, but not too bulky either. I can put it in my back pocket, and it's not noticeable if I have a bigger shirt on.

Depends on the venue and the policy of the group playing. Some don't mind, while others don't like the flashes (digital is of little use in big dark arenas). Check your ticket AND call the box office if you're not sure.

Try the Fuji F31fd. It is the best compact camera on the market for low-light situations. (Just check out www.dpreview.com and search for the review of the F31fd, you won't find a better review).
