I am 5'8 female and weigh 170 lbs. I use to play softball and was fit.. How do I manage to get to 140lbs? I have been trying to stay on a routine in the gym 3 days a week. Hour on treadmill and about 25 min weights. Been doing that for about 3 weeks. I am trying to watch what I eat. I would like to be down to 155 by November 3rd.. Is this impossible??

I have a bit of a gut I want to get rid of, big hips a bit, bit of a big butt.. and my breast are DD.. So I dont look that bad, but Id be classified as plumpy.

I have always been fit in school but after having my son 7 years ago I have never lost that baby fat etc... I want to have a flat gut again :( Really making me feel bad.. but its a catch 22.. I eat out of emotions occasionally...

Any Advice?

since we cant spot reduce body fat the only way for you to get flat stomach is by lowering your body fat percentage which you can achieve by healthy diet and exercise.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), weight training a few days a week but never work on the same muscle group two days in a row (more muscle=faster metabolism), do weights first and then cardio
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

15 pounds by Nov. 3 is possible, but it is very unhealthy.
I would advise lowering your caloric intake gradually, and continueing with your workout regiment.
You'll need to do crunches as well.
