Hey Dodge Man,

i have an '03 ram 2500 w/the HEMI
i have the cold air intake from K&N 77 Series on it

i want to get more power out of it but i cant affort a programmer
what spark plugs do you recommend to up the horseys?

i have been looking at the 4 - 6 point spark plugs
are they really worth the 6 to 7 bucks (thats a lot of money when your engine takes 16 of them)

should i use colder plugs, hotter plugs, stick to basics, ....

anybody out use those plugs before, let me know what you think of it

You can actually get in trouble with after market plugs in this and all Chrysler motors. You will get maximum plug performance with what goes in it from Dodge. A lot of problems have been solved (and not with just Chrysler products) by replacing after market parts with original manufactures parts.

Seems like there would only be 2 ways for oil to get in there that much & that would be the rings needing replacement or maybe the valve seals giving out. I wonder if a cracked head could do that too. are all the bad plugs in line with each other. If so, then I guess it's possible a cracked head could do that. I don't see how rings could go bad on multiple cylinders at the same time. Have you noticed any smoke out the back lately. Blue is oil, black is too rich fuel mixture, & white is radiator fluid. If you get blue out the back when you start it up, that's the valve seals needing replacement.

stick more closer to the stock plug for it but use the platinum, series,Bosch makes a good plug that works good in those engines,i don't recommend the 4-6 point plugs they have been known to burn a point off,or one fall off,and cause problems in the engine, such as burning a hole in the piston ,or helping to bend a valve, those engines will perform good on the stock plugs or the Bosch ones, don't try to go to hot on a plug, the ignition system you have will easily provide enough spark and heat to do the job, good luck with it.
