Time to begin shopping for a new camera. Repairs will cost more than a new camera.

If you read your Owner's Manual you'll find a "lightening bolt" next to "CAUTION" followed by a warning to never attempt to repair your camera due to the possibility of electrical shock. This possible shock is from the capacitor that powers the flash.

if you just opened up where the memory card goes or the batteries then it shouldnt have done that. if you opened it anywhere else and touched something you probally fried it! youre not ever supposed to open them b/c of electric shock and b/c it can really mess up youre camera. if you were just checking the batteries or card and it happened you need to call the manufactoruer {cant spell!!} or take it to radio shack or somewhere so they can figure out whats wrong with it. good luck!

Do not Delete! Format the card using the format feature on your cameras menu. Deleting leaves the old image index file and it can become corrupted. This is how people loose images. Formatting refreshes the card and writes a new image index file
