I am a psychology student and I was wondering if the federal government would pay back any of my loans if I work for a state university, school system as a counselor, etc., or the federal government in some other capacity. I have taken out loans including Stafford Loans, Perkins, South Carolina Student Loans, Key Alternative Loans, and Palmetto Assistance Loans. Thank you so much for your help.

I think it depends on the state or the school you work for. I'm from Houston and I know that if I work for the Houston Independent School District for 5 years as a teacher they'll pay back my loans. But I will not work for any school, so I guess you'll have to call whoever you want to work for and see what they'll do for you. I hope this helped you somehow, good luck!

Loan Repayment or Forgiveness Programs are a great way to receive extra money for college! There are numerous programs that are currently offering to pay your educational loans from an undergraduate or graduate program in return for serving in a certain underserved area of your state. I haveonly heard of this if you teach in deprived areas. So I dont think your professional will qualify for this. Private loans have to be paid by you no matter what.

I don't think they''ll pay back loans, I think once you work for them they will assist in any new school loans.
