Dude it so I can. I'd say I was pretty clingy over my soul sister and for a while I thought it was doomed, I felt soo sorry, when I first realized it. You then start to think you're drifting apart or something missing, (but you're not technically drifting apart since you guys still have the same interests) and/or you feel this awful feeling that you just can't get your hands on.
In my case we promised to love each other no matter what (always will) - after all that's what friends do - especially best friends. If clingyness ever happens to you DON'T think it's unconscious hate or you're drifting apart because chances are you share the same interests (still), it's probably that you're just scared of losing the relationship. I believed all those things by the way, and since it's recent I'm still scared sometimes, sometimes even to be TOO INDEPENDANT. I think it's normal. If you need space just vow to love each other no matter what! It's a long road also try to remember how it was when you first started being friends it's a wonderful memory!
Hope it helps!
In my case I was lucky man I hope you'll find peace in what ever your case might be! I have the greatest friend I could ask for!

yup definitely, being clingy is like being suffocated.
there's only so much clingy-ness one can take. plus, clingy-ness shows there's a lack of trust, respect and space for each other. this isn't a good sign.
one of my friends is extremely clingy. he always wants to hang out with someone, always needs to be around people. in turn, nobody wants to be around him because he's just too darn clingy and won't give anyone their space!

Well, think about it. We're always picking clingy things off our clothes, brushing clingy things from our skin, out of our hair, etcv.. What does that tell ya? DON'T BE CLINGY. Eeeew.
