I went to a doctor and it said John Smith, MD, FAAPM & R. What does this stand for?

It has nothing to do with the FAA.

It stands for:

Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

This means he is a member of his professional academy which sets the standards for his type of practice.

There are levels of recognition dependent on the standards of the academy.

Usually they are member, diplomate and fellow, with fellow being the highest level of training and knowledge recognized by the organization. In other words he is very qualified

He's a Fellow in the American Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, sometimes referred to as a Physiatrist & specializing in Rehabilitation.

I googled "FAAPM&R" and noticed the same thing you did.
Now I am puzzled as well.

Are there any doctors any 'Flipping' Doctors on line to give us the explaination?

He can do FAA physicals for pilots.
