Hi there, you poor love, I know how awful this is. It sounds like , at the moment, you are suffering from alopecia areata, which means it is only coming out in patches and should grow back.My husband had this and it grew back white, but then reverted to his natural brown. You say you were diagnosed so I guess you've been to a doctor. Ask to be transferred to a trichologist, which is a specialist in hair/scalp disorders. This can be caused by stress so discuss anything that is worrying you.I hope your hair recovers soon.Lovexxxx

If the bald spot on your head is about the size of a quarter and smooth surfaced then it must be Alopecia Areata. My bro had the same problem some time back. I know how disturbing it can be after seeing him going through it.

To my knowledge there is no way you could predict whether its gonna stay the same or advance. It can happen just as sudden as the bald patch appeared.

My bro found a website called CURESPOTBALDNESS.com that explains about the condition and suggests treatment.
You might want to give it a try. Wish you a quick recovery

Sounds like you have alopecia areata - patches of baldness. The usual causes are genetic predisposition with some kind of environmental trigger - maybe a medication or anxiety.

If it's areata, you won't lose all of your hair, and it should grow back just fine, but there is always a chance that the alopecia can come back at some point.

It falls out in patches. I heard it varies between people.
To make you happy, I donated my hair a few months back to Locks of Love, the charity that makes wigs for people with alopecia, a 22 inch long pony tail.
