You should not have a hard time getting short term diasability even long term if you need it. As for a home business I don't know what to tell you they can all equire a lot of work ( even selling AVON ) and depending on what part of treatment you are facing right now ( like Chemo ) you might be better off using the disability and focusing on keeping yourself rested and healthy and please join a support group people there will be so much beter able to answer your questions such as these because they will be from your local community. There are other finacial assistance programs available if you need them, and even some foundations specifically for women with breast cancer... I need to do research because the only one I can think of off hand is one for African American women with breast cancer and I don't know if that applies to you. From my heart I wish you the best. I pray for a speedy recovery. You can do this. Also if you are not already being seen at a cancer treatment center I suggest calling The Cancer Treatment Centers of America..,.They have counsolers and Socail services people to help with these types of matters

Dear friend,
I want to give you a standing ovation. I love to see people taking control over their situations, and not letting their situations control them.
I can speak from my own experience, and from close friends and family as well. One of whom has lived with a major disability for as long as I have known them(37 years). I will try not to run long, but each persons situation, has a uniqueness as well as similarities.
I have always worked, and I have pursued self-employment since I was a teen. I have not always been successful, but I have always kept going. If you keep moving, eventually you will learn the right direction along the way. I can say for sure that it is sink or swim at this point in your situation. This is a good thing, because we all have the instinct to swim. SSD is not a guarantee, nor is it the be all end all solution, but it does help. I encourage you to advocate for yourself, and seek the assistance of the social workers at the hospital, or treatment center, you are receiving care from to aid you in your process. My social worker, and the Psychiatrist on the Breast Cancer floor, hand carried me to the SSA in my area, made sure the paperwork was what it needed to be, before they even requested any doctors forms. I had them with me when I applied. They documented the mental stress, and medically induced depression I was experiencing, as this was the main reason I was unable to work. Stress was Breaking me down completely. My body couldn't handle it.. The next step I took was to find some nutritional supplements to restore what the chemo was depleting me. I advise you to find the funds, no matter what. The motto is, "If you can survive the treatment, then you have got a chance". I was not sick , until I started receiving treatments. A church member gave me a product, and it immediately assisted me with the symptoms of nausea, and pain. (the chemo made my whole body ache and burn). I was my old self again and able to go to chemo on my own, go shopping, and clean house the same day, and all through the week. I did find out one thing when I temporarily changed hospitals, the first one was pushing the chemo through my veins to fast. They had an overload of patients, and needed to get us in and out. I am taking other products now, as the first one only helped with some things, but not others. I encourage you to do your due diligence, and seek out your own means of assisting your body to replenish, and restore faster. As for the biz part,. I also had a person I trusted, introduce me to a business I could do from home, I am now having much success, and feel so loved by God, as to show me another way to save my own life. My financial one. My whole family(16 of us at least in my immediate and extended) all have opened up our own individual franchises. We find it is low cost, reputable, and a good income earner. We are excited about our current situations, and things are moving fast towards the next lever. some of us are traveling, and doing training now, helping our friends who join the business get the best start.
My son who is 19, is now a business owner, and my other kids have caught the vision. They love school, and want to go to college, But They know that they have their own business, gain wealth on their own terms, and go to school for what it's for, to learn for learnings sake.
I am homeschooling my last child, thanks to my early retirement from working for others. and she is getting a key part of her education, entrepreneurship, first hand. And trust me she is learning. Ij hear her use the terms, and see her interact with people from all over the globe. She is truly, and Ambassador!
