Moisturizers work very well if you use them while skin is still damp.
So moisturize at night after washing face, and shave and use after shave in AM.

You can apply the aftershave and the lotion while your skin is still wet, or after it is dry.
There are many on going discussions on what works best and the jury is still out on that one.
For my male clients (including my husband) I recommend that after you have shaved in the shower pat your skin dry so that the after shave is not diluted by the water on your face. Then apply moisturizer. Use products that are free of mineral oils....this is very occlusive and won't let your skin breath.
I also recommend using products that are formulated for men as the pH of their skin is different than a woman's. After all...not all skin is the same.

hey,
i think it is better to apply moisturizer after u have had a shower from absorbing the steam and stuff. Like dry your face with a towel first though otherwise it wont rub in. Sorry not too sure.

once you employ your moisturizer on a humid, not moist, face, you seal the greater moisture into your dermis. besides the undeniable fact that, asserting that tissues and towels carry germs is getting slightly oc (obsessive/compulsive). Tissues and freshly laundered towels do not carry adequate germs to be bothered approximately. Pat your face dry leaving it in basic terms slightly damp and then persist with your different products.

Well after a shower (assuming it's not a cold shower) your pores will be open from the humidity and such so you do not want a facial moisturizer that will clog them so to be safe perhaps wait until your face is dry.

You'd want to throw some cold water on your face first, to close off your pores, before you put on any facial lotions.

After shower, your pores are usually open and skin is still damp thus it's a perfect time to apply toner and moisturizer.
Toner will tone up your pores and balance up your skin pH after cleansing, apply moisturizer after toner as absorption is better.

If you can do it when your face is damp, not dripping, and use a moisturizer meant for your skin type. This will help to protect your skin from the elements.
