My neighbor and I have been flirting with eachother now for over a year. Finally we decided to go out with eachother over coffee. We had a really good time getting to know one another, and he gave me a big tight hug after our date saying I was beautiful. I just wonder why he didn't invite me to his apartment for us to get to know eachother more?

He probably thought that was more of a second or third date activity. You could have invited him to yours, or you could wait for the next date to suggest it. Or you could ask him yourself when you know him a little better! He probably likes you and doesn't want to rush things. Wait it out, see how things progress, and if you want something, ask for it.

Maybe he's taking things slow because he is your neighbor?
If things did not work out, he would still have to see you on a daily basis.
