I don't breed dogs and I know that a gestation period for a dog is between 60 and 65 days. I hope you are just asking a question and not breeding a dog, because if you are, I would just say "poor dog!"

if you are breeding a dog and need resources check www.petfinder.com, they have great resources on that site, and rescue group addresses if you need help spaying your dog, or the puppies.

Border collies are not for everyone. I have a border collie because I am super active and I keep her challenged inside the house and she has plenty of exercise every day. Placing a border collie pup to a family is not easy and a lot of them end up in shelters or rescue groups (like mine) because most people can't handle border collies. They are working dogs, they need a job to do and people don't get that. So please do not breed your border collie, we have a hard time to find homes for them.

On average Border Collies live to about 12 to 16 years of age. Though I can't at all see why this should be a deciding factor. Edit: More thumbs down faeries! I think their stalking me.

Don't breed your border collie! I adopted one and the rescue group told me it was so hard to find matching people for border collies. They end up in shelters because they have so much energy and can be destructive if they don't have enough exercise and mental challenge. Believe me there are way too many border collies out there! Spaying does not cost that much and it's healthier for your dog.

The same as for any other breed of dog (or cat, for that matter)....63 days, more or less. If you can remember that it takes 9 months for a human to have a baby, you can think....it takes 9 WEEKS for cats/dogs. Just an easier way to remember!!

It is the same as all dog breeds, approximately 9 weeks.

If you don't know the gestation period you should not be breeding at all!
