Atheism by definition is the lack of belief in a god. I think you qualify as a theistic agnostic... but certainly not an atheist. A theistic agnostic would basically mean you believe in a conscious higher power, but none of the mainstream religions and you aren't sure what it is you believe in. I am technically an atheist because I believe that natural processes resulted in the universe as we know it and there was no consciousness involved.

Atheism generally means lack of belief in a God, gods, or any supreme being or in superstitions and religions of any kind. Many (but not all) also don't believe in angels, devils, fairies, and other imaginary creatures.

There are "spiritual atheists," those who don't believe in God or adhere to a religion, but who accept that there may be a spiritual side to human existence.

A deist believes in God or a higher power, but does not believe in a personally involved deity of the Christian, Muslim, etc. variety, but more in an impersonal being that simply created everything and then let it go its own way.

An agnostic believes that it is not possible to know whether or not there is a God, supreme deity, or what have you, and so there is no point trying to worship one or prove its existence.

An atheist believes in no god. An agnostic believes that it is impossible to know one way or the other whether or not a god exists.

You believe in a higher power, so you could be considered spiritual but not religious. Another definition of agnostic I read is someone who believes it is impossible to know the true nature of god.

Then there's pantheism, meaning one who sees god in everything--more of a universal force than a personal creator or personal spirit.

Atheists do not believe in any god/s.

A person who believes in a higher being (not necessarily a god) can be called a deist.

Atheist = a Person that does not believe in Supreme Being/being.

What you had described will fit into the criteria of Agnostic.

An atheist lacks belief in any god.

Deist would be the best term to fit the second definition you gave.

Atheist means you do not believe in any gods. Therefore the non-belief in religions just seems to follow.

Atheist n A person to be pitied in that he is unable to believe things for which there is no evidence, and who has thus deprived himself of a convenient means of feeling superior to others.
