You can not make yourself psychotic.
Psychosis is a medical condition. It occurs with some very serious mental health conditions which effect about 1% of the general population. So chances are pretty good that you will be okay.
Now...
Your thoughts can create anxiety. If you worry about worrying... it turns into this cycle of anxiety.
Try a few things to change your thoughts.
First and foremost, take a walk... or do some other exercise. The physical activity will release some of the built up tension.
Eat healthy and get enough sleep.
If you are not eating regularly, your body will feel shaky (which mimics anxiety). Also, if you are exhausted... exhaustion mimics the symptoms of anxiety.
You really do need someone to talk with.

You are right that your thoughts are powerful. What you think about has a profound affect on your mental health. Thinking mostly about what makes you worried will cause you to be an anxious person. It sounds like you are already feeling the affects of your thoughts. At 17, do you have a school or church adult whom you can go to, if you feel like you can't talk to your parents? You don't want to continue to think about whether or not people are staring at you or thinking you are weird. Force your mind away from it and think about something you love doing. Then find a trusted adult figure to talk to about this within a few days. If you don't have a trusted adult, see if there is a hotline or a church you can call. Someone can help you.

The only thing that sounds like it might be a bonafide condition is the part about feeling nervous and your heart beats fast which could possibly be an anxiety attack. You cannot 'give' yourself a mental illness. Don't worry about that. As far as the anxiety attacks, you may want to look into the various ways of dealing with them available, there's a lot of possible remedies out there.

You know, it never hurts to see a psychologist.
Everyone suffers from some kind of mental illness; the only difference between all of us is, some of us are well aware of ourselves and some of us are not. Some of us do something about it...the other half of us don't.
If you can't handle your own emotional state of mind...you might consider medication. A doctor would determine what is wrong with you.
You sound very self concious. Which could drive anyone crazy. Practice feeling better about yourself. If you feel better about yourself--you'll pay less attention to everyone else. Maybe the reason you think everyone else thinks your weird is because you, yourself think your weird. (And just to let you know...we're all a little weird! :) )

sounds like you are having "panic attacks". Exercise helps with these type of things. You can take comfort in the fact that you are aware of your symptoms, so more that likely this will not evolve into something worse. People who fall victim to this type pyschosis are never aware of what is happening and ofter are disillusioned and think everything is allright. Panic attacks usually happend when you are going through a life changing event - such as moving away to college. Hang in there! You will be okay, you are taking the right actions by talking about it and seeking guidance.

Just turn the channel, so to speak. Remove yourself from your environment and do something else. As long as you sit there and dwell on negative fears, you'll feel negative. you gotta change it to positive action. Get up and move around, step out side even, take a big deep breath, smell the fresh air, listen to the sounds around you, put on some good music, songs that that uplift you and make you feel good, â«âªâ« play a video game, do whatever works best for you to change the channel. Find something to make yourself laugh. Entertain yourself.
The mind can't focus on two things at once.
And as far as what you read that's hogwash. lol. The most that can come from neg. thoughts is an anxiety attack and a negative attitude. Which comes from dwelling too long on things-it's only fear, my dear.
Go into the bathroom, look at your self, smile realllly big at yourself in the mirror and say, "Tee! Hee hee hee hee hee haw ho ho hoo!!" LOL Bet you can't do it without laughing!! That's what a councellor says to do.

That's anxiety and maybe panic attacks.
Same exact thing started happening to me when I was your age. I didn't talk to anyone, so I didn't know what was going on for a couple of years.
Finally I got help. I had to take anti-anxiety meds for a while until I learned to control them myself.
Once I knew that this was an actual medical condition and that I wasn't losing my mind, it got much easier to deal with.
Go talk to someone and see if you can get some help.
Hang in there and good luck.

You could be experiencing extreme Anxiety like I do sometimes if I get overly excited or worried about something.
If that is the case, you should talk to your doctor, they can prescribe medications for Anxiety.
I also might recommend going to a Psychologist, my sister does and it helps her alot.
But I just think you're under alot of stress and are getting Anxiety attacks, I've learned to control mine without medication.
Hope I've helped.
