Inhalants affect your brain. Inhalants are substances or fumes from products such as glue or paint thinner that are sniffed or "huffed" to cause an immediate high. Because they affect your brain with much greater speed and force than many other substances, they can cause irreversible physical and mental damage before you know what's happened.
Inhalants affect your heart. Inhalants starve the body of oxygen and force the heart to beat irregularly and more rapidly--that can be dangerous for your body.
Inhalants damage other parts of your body. People who use inhalants can lose their sense of smell; experience nausea and nosebleeds; and develop liver, lung, and kidney problems. Chronic use can lead to muscle wasting and reduced muscle tone and strength.
Inhalants can cause sudden death. Inhalants can kill you instantly. Inhalant users can die by suffocation, choking on their vomit, or having a heart attack.
Some long term abuse of inhalants can result in serious harm to vital organs in the body, including the brain, heart, kidneys, and liver. The vaporous fumes can change brain chemistry and may permanently damage the brain and central nervous system. They can cause abnormalities in brain areas that are involved in movement and high cognitive function. Frequent, long-term use can cause a permanent change or malfunction of nerves, called polyneuropathy. Certain inhalants can also cause the body to produce fewer of all types of blood cells, which may result in a disorder called aplastic anemia.
Other symptoms seen by long-term inhalant abusers include weight loss, muscle weakness, disorientation, inattentiveness, uncoordinated movement, irritability, and depression.

I know of a person that is 25 now ...that huffed as a teenager. He now has brain damage. His motor skills are so poor he can not eat, bath or go to the bathroom without help. He is unemployable, lives in a nursing home, crys all the time and is in and out of a psychiatric hospital for suicidal ideation. His speech can not be understood by most people. He would tell anyone...the altered mental status he experienced from huffing was not worth the permanent brain damage he sustained. He is dependent on others and no one his age finds him appealing or fun to be with. Of course the ultimate long term effect of huffing is death.

short term effect--Swiss cheese brain--
meaning the chemicals literally burn holes in your brain--ever see a film burn on a projector?
Loss of memory, job, money, family, dignity, hope, faith,
and
finally long term effect--death...
actually it is not so long term, huffers average 1-3 years before dying from it or the side effects.
family unable to pay for your funeral, that is, if they can find you and identify you to claim your body...
unable to pay because they have gone through their life savings trying to get you off huffing with rehab, bail, medical bills, paying lawyers and people you have robbed or hurt.
Want to be remembered forever?
Do drugs, huff, what ever will cause your family the most misery.

What kind of huffing are you talking about?
Smoking or spraypaint?
Short term effects of both kill your brain cells.
Long term effects can be early death or addiction.
Just stay away from it.

If you are thinking or are already doing it, DON"T!!!!
I had a friend who was a huffer for years. He ended up killing his grand pap for the few dollars he had in his wallet. This happened over 20 years ago and he is still institutionalized It really did fry his brain.
