I made one column for First Name and one for Last Name. Can I merge it into one and it would say the full name? (If you don't understand the question, ask me specific questions and I'll add it and then you can add to your answer.)

To merge columns:
Copy the data you want into the upper-leftmost cell within the range.
Select the cells you want to merge.
To merge cells in a row or column and center the cell contents, click Merge ( its the button with the a and arrows, looks kinda like this <--a--> The button should be between the Align right and Currency style $ button

Note that there is a space character between the " " in both of these answers.

Both answers work also, however, some people do not like the concatenate function because it is such a long word to type. When doing this with more than two cells the concatenate can be more easily understood sometimes.

Your choice.

I wish MS would change it to concat or something else.

I assume you want the merged data to be in the new column. You can use concatenate function:
=concatenate(A1," ",B1)
This will concatenate First Name(space)Last Name into the 3rd cell/column. Hope this helps.

spotlight the cells you may opt to merge precise click format cells under alignment place a tick mark on merge cells or in case you have a small letter "a" with arrows left and precise on your toolbars, purely spotlight the cells and click it. oops... warning! in case you merge them. the guidance on the different cellular would be deleted.
