so how does the Nepalese belief structure being somewhat different from yours make them any more or less of a religious being?

ie...you call a group of people a "crazy cult" for their beleif system. Perhaps they look at your belief system much the same way for where they see the essence of God in a sacrificed goat falling to the earth on board of a burning plane, you see it differently. Dont fault them for it, but try to understand it. It's through understanding that you realize the whole religious system is corrupt and has outlived it's purpose. I however think your source is probably theonion.com (a satire news source) as the Nepalese people are either Buddhist or Hindu (a good mix of both in Nepal), both of which respect ALL forms of planetary life, so I think what you heard is highly unlikely.
