I recently just bought a lcd tv and the picture looks a lil fuzzy. Maybe I am use to the crt tvs but I was wondering what the brightness, contrast, hue, and all those other settings should be set on for the best possible picture.

The manufacturer has already taken care of those settings....you'll find the Contrast set to 3/4 to maximum and the rest are set halfway.....

The reason your picture is fuzzy is because the signal is low definition and it's being displayed on a high definition display panel.....that display panel actually only does ONE RESOLUTION ....if it's a 720 line display or if it's a 1080 line display, then all signal types are converted to the panel's NATIVE display resolution...

So that low definition signal is actually 480 lines of information displayed on a 720 line display panel ,or a 1080 line display panel.....
That means they write each line of signal TWICE....and that makes all the flaws of the old 480 line signal really stand out !

You are used to a CRT type set. The LCD types seem to pixalize and smear with fast action, especially high contrast images. Try experimenting with the picture settings. There is no standard for settings, it is a matter of personal preference. I will also add that a poor signal will be much more noticeable on an LCD screen due to the greater contrast ratio. This is important.

You need to calibrate you TV. Get either the "Avia" or "Video Essentials" DVD and it will show you how to calibrate your picture.
