I'm 13 and I would like to get a purity ring. I've talked about it with my mom and she said yes. I'd like a bit more information about purity rings.

Would it be appropriate to engrave "Hold On" on a purity ring? It's a song by the Jonas Brothers. and also the Jonas Brothers wear purity rings.

i got the idea of getting a purity ring from them. That doesnt mean I would suffocate myself if they said, "breathing sucks"

i got my "promise ring" when i turned 16. my dad made a little ceremony out of it. it was kind of corny but it had a wonderful meaning to it all.

i love the idea of "hold on".

i think its a great idea and I'm glad there are young ladies like you in the world who would proudly display their pureness to the world.

The most important thing about it is what it means-- a commitment from you to your parents that you will save yourself--your virginity--until marriage. Once you've made that commitment, get the ring, wear it with pride, and keep it close until the day you are married.

Sounds good to me. I dont know of the song you mentioned, but the phrase sounds right.
Really, this is something between you, your parents and your God (if you are religious). The concept of whats appropriate to others shouldnt matter. Its what YOU feel comfortable with.

I think it mostly would depend upon the object that you're holding on TO. Some would be pretty inappropriate to carve on a ring I think.

The most important symbol of your innocence is not a ring (unless yours is shaped that way), but that sweet membane of flesh that offers a moment of feigned resistance before finally yielding to a lover's gentle stabs.

It's just a ring, Honey. When I fell in love, I gave mine to my boyfriend as a symbol of him holding my purity... Haha.. Didn't stay pure for long!!! (Been dating him for 4 years and plan to marry!!)

just so you know, purity rings aren't to have the thought of your favorite band (just to let you know)

you don't think it's a little sick to "sign over" your virginity to your dad? It's YOUR virginity. YOU hold on to it! Moral value doesn't need a peice of jewlery.
