You will have to add cardio (running/jogging/whatever it takes to keep your heart rate up), and do about 45-60 minutes (4-5 times a week) to start burning fat throughout your entire body.

Doing crunches tones your stomach, but if you're overweight, then the only thing that it does is tone the abdominal muscles under the fat.

Crunches build muscles. Muscles weigh more than fats so you might as well gain weight. But still, you’ve done a good work since you are burning fats when you are gaining muscle tissues. Muscles help you burn more fats. Just keep doing your crunches and try several exercise and diet.

You have to be careful of your diet. Avoid food with fats and cholesterol. Reduce your sugar consumption. It’s also good if you reduce the amount of food you eat. Drink green tea instead of carbonated drinks.

One good way of losing weight is through cardio exercise. Try running at least 30 minutes a day for 3 days in a week. Walk atleast 1 hr a day. Try different sports like table tennis, badminton or lawn tennis. This will make your arm skinnier.

Good Luck!

RUN!! Apparently running helps to burn the fat and calories, so that will help with your arms too. And watch how you eat. I'm not saying go on a diet, but just back off some from potato chips and eat a few more fruits and veggies. Just doing crunches isn't gonna get the fat off, it'll definitely help build your ab muscles though so when you do get rid of the fat, the work you put into crunching will shine through

Cardio helps you lose weight, crunches help you build muscle. There is no way to target zones for weight loss. Your body will decide what comes off first. You can do crunches and lift hand weights as much as you want, but other than toning the area...you aren't likely to see diminishing fat.

Your best bet is to introduce some kind of cardio workout to your daily routine, which will help you lose weight all over your body and for toning and definition, there are crunches and circuit training (or resistance training) which focus on muscle development. Also, building muscles supposedly helps increase your metabolism. And consider a change to your eating habits to help you along.

Best of luck!

Crunches work abs.

Try push-ups or pull ups or dips. [put arms at 90º angle behind you on a couch or bench. then put legs crossed at ankles in front. then you just dip!]

Also, don't watch the scale! Watch your clothes! Don't forget, muscle weighs more than fat! If your clothes fit, but the scale reads high- you are just gaining muscle! Thats Good!

Oh, and Try to mix up your routine! This can help a lot.

And don't forget to eat well. don't starve-but get plenty of Carbohydrates to help balance out what you are losing and help you lose in the right places.

and Weight loss can take about 6+ weeks! Patience is the key...and The longer it takes you to lose it-the longer you'll keep it off!

hope I helped!

Depsite popular belief, you can't "spot burn" fat, which means exercising a certain area to eliminate fat in that area. Pushups won't burn fat on your arms, like crunches wont burn fat on your stomach.

Crunches will actually help you gain weight, because muscle is almost twice the weight of fat... you will have strong abs though.

Cardio workouts like running, jogging, jump rope, or biking should help you to lose weight - by eliminating fat.

Do a cardio workout for at least 20 minutes per day, 5 days per week. (20 minutes is not much exercise, but start there and increase your workout time by a few minutes every day.)

I hope I was helpful.
Good luck!

you can't lose weight just by doing crunches.

you need BOTH excersise and diet.

first of all, crunches do not slim you down. all they do is make the muscle underneath the fat strong. it won't burn off the fat though.

if you want to lose weight, do more cardio. by cardio, i mean jog for like, 30 minutes in the morning. buy some tae bo videos.

DIET is extremely important. you can't excersise and then eat anything you want and expect the weight to come off.
number one: stop eating 5 hours before you sleep.
number two: drink 8 - 10 glasses of water
number three: balance your meals! lots of fruits and veggies! stay away from fatty foods! - 2,250 calories a day.

walk often. get as much excersise as you can.

for your arms? do push ups. buy dumbbells. or a punching bag.

good luck!

Try looking into a gym or Y.M.C.A. that has " step & sculpt " exercise classes. These particular classes get your heart pumping to speed up your heart-rate and really work up a sweat in a short amount of time.
Speed-walking or jogging can accomplish the same thing.
To rid yourself of that loose jiggly flab in your arms :- stand in a swimming pool ( or lake or ocean ) , make sure that your shoulders are below the surface of the water, stretch your arms straight out to the side ( level with the top of your shoulders ) and begin moving your arms in circles. Then, circle your arms in the opposite direction.
If you do this long enough, you will absolutely hate me in the next morning because your arms will feel so 'tight'. But, this exercise works on creating muscle where there used to be flabby arms.
The water acts as resistance while you are moving your arms in circular motion.
Good Luck ! to you.

yeah... Um, doing crunches is great and all, but you're only toning the affected areas that you are working out. For the arm fat, light weights, 5-10 lbs... I'd say, start at 3 sets of 12, then move up... if you want.

To lose weight, you are going to need to do some cardio... meaning, get the heart rate up, and keep it up for a prolonged period of time... jogging, biking, hiking, etc...

Exercise creates adrenaline which will keep you up at night so don't wait to late to do your crunches.

Do push-ups, pull-ups, and/or lift weights every other day for your arm fat.

About you not losing weight... don't eat meat past like 7pm, eat less bread/starches/carbs/sugar, eat more veggies, and say hello to water! It's been proven that just by increasing your water intake can cause a person to loose weight.

Overall eat healthy and drink less everything but water.

Good Luck!(:
