I have never asked a girl out in my life but after watching that pick up artist show i decided to try it. I went to the movies with my friends and saw the prettiest girl i have seen in awhile and def the hottest one there and decided i would try to go talk to her just so i could fail and at least say i took the first step. i went and talked to her and tried all the techniques and screwed everything up...apparently she thought that was cute...whatever. so far all the focus has been getting to this point...but now what

Plan something a movie, or just get something to eat or a walk in the park plan a day and time then call her and ask her out

You take the paper and chop it up and make a nice stew with it. 3 cups of water, 1 lb of chopped boneless chicken, 1/2 cup chopped celery, 1/4 cup minced carrots and let set for 30 min on medium heat.
Just kidding, call her. Start off a conversation, get to know more about each other, respond with positive feedback, set up a date and go from there. See if she has IM and you two can chat, or just see what you two have in common. Talk about world news, better yet...talk about the movie.

Dial her up silly and ask her out to lunch or on a picnic or something. I mean you have done the first step. Now you must follow up on getting a date set for when you and her can go out and you can get to know each other better. Thats what you need to do.

Once you get her number, you call her. Asking for her number really means, "Hey, I'd like to get to know you better and would like some means of doing so" and the phone is one of those means. (It's the same thing if you ask for an email address or an IM screenname.)

You could try ringing her mate. Ask her out, or ask her to dinner at your place whatever makes you feel more comfortable. But you have to make that first big step, and ring her.
