Retin-A is used to treat acne. It promotes cell turnover which helps keep pores clear. It also stimulates collagen production which is why it is also used to fight wrinkles.
Retin-A is a form of tretinoin & is a vitamin A derivative.
"tretinoin. Topical, prescription-only medication that can improve cell production after it has been damaged. It is the active ingredient in Retin-A, Renova, Tazorac, and Avita. One of the more significant problems of sun damage is abnormal and mutated cell growth. An article from Clinics in Geriatric Medicine (November 2001, pages 643–659) stated that “Studies that have elucidated photoaging pathophysiology have produced significant evidence that topical tretinoin (all-trans retinoic acid), the only agent approved so far for the treatment of photoaging, also works to prevent it” (Sources: Cosmetic Dermatology, December 2001, page 38; and Journal of Investigative Dermatology, 2001, volume 111, pages 778–784). Tretinoin affects and improves actual cell production deep in the dermis, far away from the surface of skin (Sources: Clinical and Experimental Dermatology, October 2001, pages 613–618; Clinics in Geriatric Medicine, November 2001, pages 643–659; and Photochemistry and Photobiology, February 1999, pages 154–157)."

yes it can be used for that. it is used for numerous skin imperfections like the major one is acne, skin discolorations like pigmentation{ brown spotting} and wrinkles. i use the 0.5 % to keep my skin smooth. i used the 1% which is a stronger strength but my skin was so irritated from it so i had to go to a lesser strength for my sensitive skin. if you have wrinkles you need to use retinol A cream. hope i helped ya.

your best answer and easy answer to explain is it is a skin stripper. after putting it on you will shed that layer of skin off. do not try it unless you doc has written the cream for you. also beware you need to ask your doctor about scaring. so if you scare like keloid scaring will it show in the areas that you use it.
it is written for many different uses not just wrinkles
good luck on looking 20 years younger.

yep, it can help stimulate collagen and elastin in your skin to prevent wrinkles. It can also help control excess oil production, so it helps with acne as well. It also can reduce pigmentation issues such as sun spots and melasma.
