My hubby and i will be in Paris from 28 Oct - 31 Oct (3 days, 3 nights). We are deciding between doing a 1 day trip out either to Disneyland or Versailles. We can only afford a 1 day trip out of the city as we dont have the luxury of time. Any advice is much appreciated!

We are on our honeymoon so which would be a more ideal location? Any chance we can do both??

Versailles. Hands down.

Disney is overrated in the US and a complete letdown in France. Versailles is a wonderful, beautiful place. You'll be missing out on a lot if you skip it in favor of Disney. (And my juvenile side was happy to note that all the horse statues were anatomically correct, LOL)

Heads up- Last time I was in Paris, my regular Metro pass did not cover the entire trip to the castle because you have to hop off the Metro and take one of the commuter trains that goes outside the city. You'll probably have to get a ticket for the trip at the station.

No way you can do both, you would have to skip Paris itself.

Since you are so short on time, are you sure you want to make the trip out of the city? Jetlag is hard if you try to cram in too much sightseeing and not enough time relaxing... and besides, it's your honeymoon! Take it easy and see where the mood leads you. Whatever you decide to do, you can go to http://www.ratp.fr/ to plan your route via the Metro/ bus. If you don't speak French, there is an English version available by clicking the Union Jack at the top right of the page.
Good luck and have fun!

Versailles, without any doubt, is a vastly better destination than Disneyland.

Paris is an immensely rich city in culture, history, art, music, and sheer fun. Three days cannot do it justice to begin with.

Even as wonderful as Versailles is I'm not sure its a good tradeoff for a day in Paris assuming you are a first time visitor. (To take a day from Paris to see Mickey Mouse would be a crime.)

Take the RER A from Chessy-Marne-la-Vallée to Gare de Lyon, flow to Metro 14 in the direction of Bibliotheque-Francois Mitterrand, then flow to RER C at Bibliotheque-Francois Mitterrand to Versailles-Rive Gauche it is going to take approximately ninety minutes which comprise flow time. you additionally can look up different suggestions and detailed time table on the information superhighway internet site RATP stated below:

both disneyland & versailles are an all day event. unless you have an urge to visit every disneyland you should go to versailles.

there is only one versailles!!!!

Versailles ! it's a beautiful town and the chateau is breathtaking. I think its a far more romantic destination than disneyland.

do you love disney? Will that make you happy going there? or do you want to see a place that many people would see when they go to paris. Its a personal decision. congratulations.

Its up to you but I would go to Versailles.
Disneyland might end up a huge disappointment. And you can get that here in the U.S.
