Many people state that the first thing they want to do when they arrive in Heaven is see all their friends and loved ones who had passed on before them. I do not think this will be the case. Yes, I do believe we will be able to see, know, and spend time with our friends and family members in Heaven. In eternity, there will be plenty of time for that. However, I do not think that will be our primary focus in Heaven. I believe we will be far more occupied with worshipping God and enjoying the wonders of Heaven to be concerned with being reunited with our loved ones right away.

What does the Bible say about whether we will be able to see and know our loved ones in Heaven? When David’s infant son died as a result of David’s sin with Bathsheba, after his time of grief David declared, “But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me” (2 Samuel 12:23). David assumed that he would be able to recognize his son in heaven, despite the fact that he died as a baby. The Bible declares that when we arrive in Heaven, we will “be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2). 1 Corinthians 15:42-44 describes our resurrection bodies: “So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.”

Just as our earthly bodies were of the first man Adam (1 Corinthians 15:47a) so will our resurrection bodies be just like Christ’s (1 Corinthians 15:47b). “And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality” (1 Corinthians 15:49,53). Many people recognized Jesus after His resurrection (John 20:16, 20; 21:12; 1 Corinthians 15:4-7). So, if Jesus was recognizable in His resurrection body, I see no reason to believe that ours will be any different. Being able to see our loved ones is a glorious aspect of Heaven – but Heaven is far more about God, and far less about our own wants. What a pleasure it will be to be reunited with our loved one, and worship God with our loved ones for all eternity.

Please dont worry or get wrapped up with peoples opions on when God is going to come with an exact date. God said no one knows, not even Jesus Christ his son. So i know for a fact, us humans will not know and it will be wrong just like they thought 2000 was going to be the year of terror when there will be starvation and choas in the world.

Ignore all these people popping in and saying random anti-Christian nonsense. It serves no purpose for your question, or for either side of the debate.

If you believe and follow God, as written in the New Testament, then you will go to heaven. Other than "it's a good place" nobody know what it will be like. So don't take things like what you read to heart, those people know no more than you do.

2012 is the date of the Mayan Doomsday prophecy. It's not a Christian teaching. Don't worry about it. The Mayans were great star mappers and 2012 is actually the date of a rare planetary alignment. Due to bad translations people mistook it to be the end of the world.

However, the book of Revelations is Christian teaching. God says the world will come to an end when someone called the anti-Christ, who establishes a Babylonian (that's satanic) style church in Rome, begins to regain all his old power and take over the world. The anti-Christ pretends to be Christian and tricks everyone on earth into joining his religion. Then after a time he'll begin to claim that he is God on Earth and nearly everyone will believe him. God, angered that his people have shunned him, sets into motion something called 'the tribulation', which will be the greatest show of Gods power since the creation of the Earth. This is to remind everyone that He is still there. But in the end God defeats the anti-Christ, vaporises the world and takes the true followers to the kingdom of God which is not on Earth.

It isn't scary. If this happens then it means God is real. And there's nothing to be afraid because everything will work out better.

I'm more into 'answering' than 'asking' here on Y!A and, like you, some of my responses do get quite verbose.. However,... ... when I do post the occasional question, the respondent I am most likely to award the, albeit dubious, award of "Best Answer" to is the answer that I feel was the result of someone who took the time to proffer a 'thoughtful' answer to my query. That's the reason why I usually scroll to the bottom of the page of answers and work my way back up; for the more serious answers are usually the last ones posted. I've even been know to give a BA to a response that I disagreed with, - and only because I felt the effort given to 'create' that answer was more worthy of the distinction than than any one-liner posts I may happen to agree with. I do have a few pet peeves, though: I DO NOT LIKE COPY/PASTE ANSWERS: C/P excerpts within an answer are fine,.. but to offer just a C/Ped piece from, say, a WIki article is NOT an answer: It is plagiarism...:-)) 'TEXT SPEAK' AGRAV8S ME: Y!A is a Q&A forum, not a chat room. There is plenty of time on here to completely spell out the words to an answer. SPELLING COUNTS, - AND SYNTAX MATTERS: We all make mistakes, and that's okay,... ...but there is little excuse for the deplorable orthographics I frequently see displayed here on Y!A, - particularly when there is easy access to the 'Check Spelling' feature. LONG ANSWERS ARE NOT ALWAYS GOOD ANSWERS: I've found that the intolerably lengthy answers are usually the result of of an over-zealous 'cut-and-paster'. I will give a thumbs-down to such answers in order to facilitate my access to other answers. I think that's about it...:-)) So, MumOF4,... ... if you see that I've posted a question, feel free to answer it with 'maximum verbosity', and know that your response will absolutely be given my attention...:-)) -

Don't worry you will see ur loved one and remeber them and all good memories you have of them. The Bible says you will not feel sarrow, grief, or worry, you will be perfect. About the husband and wife thing, it won't matter because you mind will always be on God. you will love everyone like a brother or sister even your own husband and children. About the world ending, it will happen. Just like you said it will happen when you least expect it. It states in the book of Revelation that no man or angel or even the Son of God will know when that day will come. No man can predict it. So most likely it wont happen in 2012. But don't worry about your plans and dreams. Put your life into God's hands and do His will. That's what I'm doing and I tell you what it feels great. I have no worries of my future, because I'm going to be doing what God wants me to do.

Theres many different beliefs about heaven, and when it comes down to it, it depends on what you believe because no one is really you. It is said by some that your soul survives, and your existence becomes something totally different, at that point, theres really no unhappiness about it.

As far as 2012 goes, some people believe its the time of singularity, where time speeds up infinately, as do change. It may result in the end of the world (or it may not). Some say that people who are developed spiritually would ascend to the 5th dimension. I have heard countless theories of what goes on, and theres been a lot of escapist theories out there was well. Will it really be the end of the world? who knows? If I can offer you my advice, don't worry about it. Enjoy life as it is now, what will come will come.

OK, there have been people predicting the end of the earth for years and years, when i was in the first grade (1963, yes I know I'm old) there was a lady that predicted the earth would end on a certain day that year, well guess what, it did not, my ex wife watched a TV show in 1994 that "Told" us the signs for Armageddon were upon us, and that we would all die in 1996, guess what it did not happen. 2012? all i can say is this, if it happens it does, if it doesn't and you have lived your life like it was going to happen and you are not prepared to go on the predictions of the world ending have come true for you

Heaven won't change whether or not you believe in it anymore.
The 2012 stuff is just stuff. It's man's attempt to pretend that he knows more than he does (as usual).
If the world comes to an end, and if you thought of heaven once, then it should be nice for you because Heaven isn't meant to be boring ...What you think excites you now won't even come close to what heaven will bring to you. It's not like "church", it's reality and what is your destiny.

Your friends who will be in heaven are those who have given their lives to Jesus. Assuming you have as well, then you'll see them in heaven and talk about old times. The ones you will not remember will be those who turned away from Jesus. God will not allow us to suffer the burden of their loss.

2012 could be an interesting year. The poles of both the sun and the earth will reverse. Some scientists predict a cataclysm while others believe nothing at all will happen.

If you're saved it doesn't really matter. We'll be taken out of here before things get really bad so either way, you can still follow your dreams.

No, we will not forget everything and everyone in Heaven, what will survive will be the Love. The hate in all of us will slough off and only the Love will remain. Yes you will forget, you will forget forever the parts of you and them that is not love.

Btw, the world is never coming to an end, God never said He would end the world, He said He's coming back to unite Heaven with earth.

Firstly if christianity is right than yes we will forget all things on earth because we will have no need for them in heaven. And secondly it does say Jesus will come back when we least expect it, so 2012, its not happening.
