I have lived in Salmon Arm for the past 14 years. Generally we get quite a bit of snow, but I have seen some winters where we didn't have snow for Christmas. Winter temps are on average about -5C, usually it snows, melts some, snows, etc, so the snow pack in town isn't normally too high. Due to the elevation difference around town, many areas get noticably more snow than areas closer to the downtown core.

I love Salmon Arm. I live 60km's south of there. Some years gets lots of snow, and some years doesn't. The last few years have been milder than usual and very little snow. About every 6-7 years we have a bad winter. As far as the ground being covered all winter, it's certainly possible. However the roads will all be cleared after every snowfall, so it's not really a problem. Actually looks so pretty.
I would worry more about the summer. Shuswap Lake is a extremely busy tourist area. In the summer it is very very busy.

yep...Vernon

at the higher elevations it snows a lot, salmon arm is kind of in a interesting location, a little to the east are rainforests and massive snowfall because of the moist pacific air hitting the rockies, but a little to the west is almost desert conditions and very little snowfall. Salmon arm is an incredible beatiful place though with great lakes and boating and beautiful landscapes.

salmon arm is orchard country, it gets its fair share of snow, and driving on the highways can be iffy in the winter, not iffy as in being open but just winter conditions. If the interior is having a snowy winter you will most certainly have snow - it isnt always consistent.

Its a beautiful area, great little village atmosphere, some nice pubs and restaurants, its on the Trans Canada, in lake country,

Also was the home of some kind of neo nazi arian nation people but dont know if they are still there or if the people in the ares managed to shovel them out of their town and send them on their way

60 kms south? Vernon area?
