When we are born again as believers we are saved from many things. We are saved from eternal separation from God
Mark 16:16
He who believes and is baptized shall be saved but he who does not believe shall be condemned.

Acts 1:12
And there is salvation in no other, for neither is there another name under heaven given among men in which we must be saved

We are saved from this evil days we are living in.
Acts 2:40
And with many other words he solemnly testified and exhorted them saying' be saved from this crooked generation

Romans 5:9-10 are two interesting verses.
9- Much more then having now been justified in His blood we will be saved through Him from wrath.
10- For if we, being enemies, were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more we will be saved in His life having been reconciled"

One speaks of being saved from wrath through the blood of Jesus Christ, by His Death on the Cross.
The other speaks of " much more we will be saved in His LIFE having been reconciled"

We have been saved by Christ's death from God's eternal judgement and eternal punishment, but we are still being saved by Christ's life in His Resurrection day by day. The other side of death is resurrection, and it is as a new creation in Christ Jesus that we walk and have our whole being according to the Spirit within us each day. This is being saved from the self, the natural man,, the old man, sin, the flesh and living IN CHRIST through the power of His Spirit and the Word ( Romans 1:16, 1 Cor 1:18)

1 Corinthians 3:15
If anyone's work is consumed he will suffer loss but he himself will be saved yet as through fire.

The salvation we have received in Christ is not by our works ( Titus 3:5), it is eternal and unchanging in nature ( Heb 5:9 and John 10:28-29). Hense those believers whose christian works are not approved by the judging Lord and who suffer the loss of reward will still be saved. God's salvation as a free gift to all believers is for eternity, whereas the Lord's reward to those ( not all) believers whose christian works are approved by Him is for the Kingdom age.

So this word " saved" sister Kait is very broad in the christian realm. It carries with it many aspects of the christian life that we should all bring before the Lord to be made clear about.

Only by His love, mercy and grace

edit: This is a good question because many of us use the term saved without really knowing what it means. See verse 3. Living hope - from the dead. It can mean not only in the spiritual but also in our bodies, here and now.

1 Peter 1:

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time...

9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, --

A saved Christian is one who has acknowledged, repented of and turned from their sins, believed that Christ died to pay their sin penalty thereby restoring them into a right standing with their Heavenly Father. Then one would live a life dedicated to service and obedience to the Lord. I believe people are called "saved" because this process saves us from the penalty of sin, which is death (or hell). God bless!!

there are Christians who think all they need to do is to believe in GOD and all their sin is forgiven and they are saved, some think once saved always saved .that is not true accepting and believing in GOD is the first step to a relationship with him.you must also keep the commandments.the 10 original commandments and repent of your sins ask GOD in your private prayers for forgiveness and sin no more.you are also to be a witness for Christ and his love and message of redemption.so it requires a true change and a real spiritual awakening to know this.read the bible everything you need to know is there.good luck.

We are "saved" from death, with His promise of eternal heaven!

We can know this, claiming his salvation by faith, even before we die and see it happen.

I am born again, because I know I will not be stopped by inevitable death on earth. I will go to that place He has prepared for me.

I'm re-born, of His Spirit, at least "positionally", even right NOW!

God blesses us as we pray!

He said it. I believe it. That settles it.

The only "saved" Christians will be with Jesus in the first judgment (Revelation 7:9-)
Anyone who says so now is either not versed in scripture, or naive.

Saved from eternal death into eternal life with God.

For the first answer, I defy you to prove I am a poorly educated "hick". Typical answer of someone who has cyber-space as a cushion.

A person that believes that Jesus, who is God, died for their sins on the cross and rose again, apart from any of their own works added, is saved.

Imma put it in lamons terms. Lets say, you go steal something. But afterwards, you feel very bad about it. So you go to your church, and ask god for forgivness, and ask him into your heart, and ask him for help so you don't do bad things again. You are basically bein born again, but without evil in your heart.
