Here is a link that will show what a cat should not eat. Dog food is on the list.

Dog food can cause a cat to become malnutrition and the cat can end up with heart problems.

It probably won't hurt, but cat food is formulated for cats, not dogs. Try mixing a little cat food with the dog food. Also, it will be a good idea to put away the cat food at dog feeding time. When the dog learns that dog food is what she gets, she will eat it.

If its just this once it should be okay if you only give her just enough to fill her belly and not any more. My cats at home eat dog food sometimes but the most definitely have to have cat food. Cats have higher protein requirements than do dogs due to the fact that cats are strictly in the carnivore category--even if they do eat grass sometimes--and dogs are considered omnivores. Cats also need specific amounts of certain nutrients differently than dogs do. Cat food comes with a specific nutrient--taurine--that if cats don't get can cause harmful effects. Definitely get some kitty food asap.

Cats need 35% protein in dry food, and at LEAST 12% in canned food. Most grocery store foods are lower than that and are garbage.

Dogs need lower protein levels. If you feed dog food to a cat he'll have trouble getting all the vitamins, minerals, trace elements, AND protein he needs and will slowly starve. Plus dog food isn't required to have taurine in it, cats need taurine.

Just this once, maybe ok, but no more than that.

How big is the bag? My cats eat dog food all the time, by choice, but it is not good for them all the time. I think I would go buy some cat food, it is specially formulated for exactly what they need, so you don't have to guess about what to add. Too much sodium (salt) can cause neurological problems, even death.

One meal is not going to be the end of the world, but cats can't live on dog food; it has the wrong nutritional profile for them. There's a fair chance the cat won't eat it anyway, so you'll still need to get cat food tomorrow.

If you don't add salt to it I would say yes but don't feed cats too much dog food as cat food have more nutrients that cats need. My cat loves dog food and my dog likes cat food but I try not to mix it you too often.

No, cat food is higher in proteins then dog food. Cats also have special nutrient requirements that aren't met by dog food. One time won't kill her, but will you throw the whole bag away or use it up?

NO! it can cause a horrible stomach ache along with runny nasty poo! Just go out and buy some cat food! Save yourself from the vet bills! A cats stomach cannot properly digest dog food its very hard on their stomach.
