retired elem teacher here who is very curious about highly gifted kids and took a 40 hour week long class by Dr. Roger Taylor. Hear about this one he told us and it is true. A 2 month old baby in his infant seat was in the dr's office with mommy for his checkup and he looked up at the picture on the wall and said "giraff" just as clear as a bell. These highly gifted kids learn by osmosis Dr. Taylor said, it is like they are born knowing it and if each of us looks at what we are best at, it seems so easy and natural to us but often hard to others, so these kids are just born with knowledge. But the saddest part is really in their heart of hearts , they would rather be normal and just have friends as they almost always lack social skills and are ostracized, either end of the bell curve is ostracized, mentally retarded or highly gifted because the majority of the world is in the middle and rejects the difference. These kids definitely think outside the box. They thought Albert Einstein was retarded until he was in 5th grade, read about it.

Yes I did! That's sooo amazing! I can barely do day to day math like addition and subtraction let alone what he may be doing! Does he play? I mean can he go outside and throw dirt and play swords with the other boys? Is he really going to be a child? I hope his parents are smart enough to see that!

I just read an article about him. He says the class is boring. The plan for him is to be out of school in five years with a Masters Degree. Smart kid!

never heard of him but actually feel sorry for him. Being that smart would not be an easy life. No friends on his own level. Very sad
