Science has its limits.
God: in concept, does not.
How can you ask for the proof of God when that means: to measure the limitless with limited tools?

Note: When I say science has its limits, I mean science has a limited number of things it can achieve at any moment in time. That doesnt mean it wont achieve more in the future, but since it will never achieve everything, it will be limited at all times.

Richard Dawkins is a preacher. And whatever he says is done to get support for his disbelief, not reason or science per se.

Human imagination is limited to the amount of brain cells it has.

Im not asking anyone to believe in anything, Im asking a very reasonable question. If you understand the concept of being limitless, you cant ask for proof.

Science has its limits, but theology is the most limited belief system out there. According to religion, one must believe on faith alone, which means that all competing ideas are on equal footing because there is no evidence to distinguish one thing as more correct than another.
Science is the only proven method for distinguishing reality from fiction. Even the assumption of a god cannot be trusted if there is nothing to show that the supernatural exists. Religion is a passionate shot in the dark, and offers no assurance. Plus I see religious people deny basic scientific understanding of the universe, such as its old age and the theory of evolution, which is the modern underpinning of biology today.
Without science, we would lose all control over the world around us and go extinct. Science stopped the black plague.
In the Middle Ages, those sad humans relied on faith instead of medicine, and they had nothing to help them when a microscopic disease killed 1/4 of Europe, or later when thousands of children succumbed from polio and malaria.
There is no set definition for god, or the supernatural, or a religion that is not based on sheer guessing. Science does not answer "why," but it does not mislead people based on wishful thinking, either. I encourage you to come to your own belief systems, but not to ignore the scientific method or what it has done for our species in the past couple centuries.

Dear Theists,
Science has its limits, true, but it is also trying to break the limit.
God : in concept, is just imagination, there is no limits to imagination and delusion.
How can you advise others to just imagine instead of searching for the truth? If a creature that is limitless and yet cannot perform a simple limited skill like providing credible proof, then this creature is limited only by imagination, which is what most mind controlling people are trying to do.

Until you provide evidence of this god, then it's only a limitless imaginary being.
I'll take a REAL limited thing over an UNREAL imaginary thing any day of the week.
EDIT:
"Richard Dawkins is a preacher. And whatever he says is done to get support for his disbelief, not reason or science per se."
So why is Dawkins so popular? He's not forcing his beliefs on any of us, nor has some invisible sky pixie instructed him to spread the word. Maybe he also preaches because he sees a positive feedback in the form of a rise in his reader's intelligence?

The difference is that science is a real thing which has practical uses for the human race.
Unlike 'god' which is a superstitious and primitive way of personifying the cosmos for people who are unwilling to make an effort to understand it. That and it's a convenient political tool for controlling people.
And by the way, science has temporary limits and that's what makes it useful. If science knew everything (like theists claim they do) then it wouldn't be any fun.

Because if there is a God as the Christians see him-- all-powerful-- He would be able to show Himself to us once and for all. God may be seen as limitless-- but there is still 0 proof of Him. Science is slowly proving and disproving theories one at a time. It is not limitless, but it still has more proof than there is of God.
I don't believe in God, but I have my spirits and they make me happy.

Up until this last century, we didn't know anything about Dark Energy.
We now know it exists, but we can't see it. It's the space that exists between galaxies that provides the vacuum effect due to the universe expanding.
It's not NOTHING, but it's invisible.
God, though, has only been around for 2,000 years. Multiple gods and goddesses have been around for 40,000 years. Humans, 1.2 million years.
And yet, people still claim that they have seen him, but never describe him as other than light.
Which means, either they had a hallucination, or they THOUGHT they saw "god" when they experienced a life-threatening situation, seeing what they felt they wanted to see as an "angel" or "god" saving their life.
Go figure, god only exists when death is near emminent.
For as long as there has been one god, there have been wars.

I would say that God is limited in one important way: Existence.
Okay, now my non-smart-***-answer: The problem isn't so much that science has its limits -- it's that human understanding may have limits. But God, at least as far as I can tell, is a construct of human misunderstanding, not a construct of human understanding.
I think it's kind of a cop-out to define God outside of logic and reason.

Many Germans in the 1930's joined the Nazi party. Many 19th century Americans participated in the genocide of the American Indian. Many 1840's southerners owned slaves. Many low income women in the city of Detroit smoke crack. Many lemmings will follow a single lemming off a cliff. Just because everbody's doing it, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Well... YOU'RE asking US to drop everything and believe in Him, as well as subscribing to the moral values of a book where genocide, child murder, etc. are upheld as all right if God gave the orders, so before we abandon our modern moral principles (to say nothing of standards of proof), isn't it beholden on you to provide a teeny bit more evidence that your God exists than "trust me"? And even if there IS a God, that still doesn't mean that your SPECIFIC deity (Jehovah) is the real deal - that is a separate matter to be shown!

Science can be tested and proven. God can't.
Science is based on knowledge and empirical proofs. God is based on myth and "faith".
Science is rational. Belief in gods (religion) is delusional.
Why would I need a yardstick to measure a myth?
