When I moved out of my old place, I was threatened by my landlord. She chased me around the house, called me names and used threatening words like "Don't you dare to talk back to me or I throw you out of the window." To be honest, this is the first time I engaged in a situation like this. I was so scared. Ever since, I feel like I am losing myself. I always feel scared and someone is going to hurt me. I can't sleep well and always wake up in the middle of the night. My friends said I used to be cheerful and make jokes around. However, I don't feel like talking these days. It's hard for me to concentrate at work. I don't want to do anything over the weekend but stay home. What should I do?

Go to a trusted doctor and tell him or her about your problem, or if you don't have a doctor, ask a friend if they know of one. You need one that is easy to talk to and who will understand your problem in order to help you. By the way, why in the heck was your landlord chasing you around the house?

I had the SAME situations when I moved out on my own and had a guy break into my apartment. It sounds like post traumatic stress. You become paranoid of the people around you and you being to let the things that matter slide. Even when you sleep you wake up tired because you cannot relax enough to go into the deep sleep you need... you can gladly email me with any questions you may have.. I've been there. in the mean time seek out a qualified therapist to help you deal

First of all call the police and get a restraining order and report her to them.

Second maybe you can find a counselor or someone to talk with so you can get this off your chest and work thru these fears.

If you have to get some pills for the bad anxiety attacks to help you get thru until you can be healed of these feelings.

I am so sorry you had to experience something like this. What this lady did was mental abuse and is not acceptable. No matter what kind of abuse you have gone thru it still hurts and sticks in your mind. I hope you can get healed of this soon. Don't let this one incident ruin your life. Choose to take control and don't let this over take you.

You could talk to a therapist.I feel people should always be making an effort to increase mental health and peace of mind. See site below to learn more about deep happiness not a shallow happiness that is ruined with an event.

talk to someone, even if the only person whom you can talk to at the moment is someone of your religious faith, or even a very good friend. If work supports mental health and counseling sessions try one out. You shouldn't have to live in fear and they should be able to help.

Aw, don't feel bad. I think you should report her or something. Why was she like that? Don't let it bother you. You've moved out now, right? So don't worry too much.

you should definately take up some kind of martial arts class.

that way if someone tries to hurt you you have self defense

and in turn, it also builds self esteem, self confidence, etc.
