Yet they go to the Dr's and load up on anti-biotics and eat the worst types of food and think that is okay.
Is it because of the commercials telling you how bad it is and how they televise smoking as 'cool'.
Why don't they have commercials warning you of what Dunkin' Donuts can do to you? Look how many people dye from obesity or health issues linked to obesity!

They are trying to get people to notice the health issues of overeating. Everyone has to make their own choices. I always thought it was ridiculous to ban cigarette commercials from television and then keep on pushing the alcohols they sell. I've never seen a family destroyed by someone smoking a cigarette when I've seen plenty of families destroyed by alcoholism and the destruction it causes to a family. To each his own! By the way, I don't do either (smoke or drink).

They have news articles and advertisements on all the time about people needing to loose weight or get help with different issues. Look at the news telling all Americans they are fat and need to loose weight and all the risks of being overweight. Look at all the dieting commercials out there.

They don't televise smoking as cool anymore. They televise it as dangerous. Though you will still see people in the movies lighting up. It doesn't make it right.

Smoking is one of the most addictive drugs known to man. You can be addicted after one smoke. That is all it took me. Is one drag off one persons cigarette. Then all I wanted was more. It is also one of the most dangerous pastimes in existence. You have more things to die from from smoking than you do from being overweight. Even suicidal people have less chance of dieing from it than smokers from smoking. Check the statistics if you don't believe me.

Thank you. There are a plethora of things in this world that are bad for you, like commuting, stress, & congenital diseases. The people who tout smoking as the big killer are being funded by groups that sponsor them in order to make money. Look at MADD. By the time a person has been forced to pay thru the nose & attend & pay for MADD Panel Groups to appease the county, everyone makes out but the poor schmuk who got caught. Until we put the power back in the hands of individual business owners, we got exactly what we paid for- a law against public smoking based on skewed statistics & has got us all hiding in our cars in the parking lot or driving around looking for a place we CAN smoke on our work breaks. God bless American Legislature.

Amen, sister.

It took years and years for cigarette commercials to be banned from TV. Tobacco is a huge income producer for entire states in the US.

Banning fast food commercials would be infinitely more difficult, because eating is a natural behavior, whereas smoking is not.

The only way to spread the truth is person to person, one at a time.

Dunkin Donuts doesn't have nicotine, arsenic, tar, formalahyde or nitric acid amoung other things. Dunkin' Donuts has a lot of sugar and fat. Bad in large doses, but not nearly as addictive or killer as cigarettes. Plus, commercials don't need to tell us, our culture and society does that too fine.

You are 100% right. People like to dump all over the dangerous/bad habits that they DON'T have and conveniently ignore all the ones that they do.

The golden rule is to ignore most people's opinion on anything.

You sound like a person who's trying to make excuses for the fact that she smokes. Sorry, but donuts aren't addictive, and antibiotics don't kill people; smoking does both. Clean up your own house before you criticize someone else.

I don't dye things. I like my hair and clothes the color they are.

Some fatty eatin' a donut next to me doesn't effect my health, but the guy smokin' a cigarette on the other side of me sure is.

It's not one or the other. Make healthy decisions and you'll be just fine.
