Logically, you can't prove a negative. The burden of proof for the existence of a god or gods is on the religious people. Until said existence is proven scientifically, I remain...a fellow atheist.

You cannot prove the existence/non-existence of God. You believe that he exists and that it is a rational belief.
You cannot prove the existence/non-existence of Santa Claus. You think it is ridiculous to assume that he exists.
Try to make sense out of that.
"There is no evidence for or against X, therefore there should be no belief or disbelief in X. Now fill in the X with either the Flying Spaghetti Monster or God..."
"Truth does not demand belief. Scientists do not join hands every Sunday, singing, 'yes, gravity is real! I will have faith! I will be strong! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up must come down, down. down. Amen!' If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about it." — Dan Barker (ex-preacher).

No... The existence of god can't be proven, so there is no way to DISPROVE that which hasn't been proven to exist.
And the only people to try to prove it are those who can't prove anything about the existence of this being other than "look at nature and its beauties", "read the bible" or "just believe".

Believing in God isnt about having evidence, its about having faith. If you need proof to believe in God than you dont have any faith. When accepting that God is real the first step is to have faith. From there you will see all the miracles he does within yourself and around you. People want to say God doesn't exist because they dont want to believe in what that could possibly mean. People want to go by there own rules and some are fearful of the thought that there is a God and thats why they are so desperate to find/ prove that he does not exist. Religous people dont try and assume anything, they already know he exists because they have faith.

Very good question and if you can't prove there is a god then why try and persuade others that there is. I know some of you think God talks to you but those are your own thoughts.

If there is a God, then it knows what proof I need to accept its existence. I sure don't need any religious nut cases trying to convince me they know all about God, when it's really just their imagination and wishful thinking.

You gotta understand something, not everything in life, is based on: getting proof to believe
especially if you feel a deep sense of connection with what youre hearing, then youre inherently a person who has belief, and not someone who believes because theres proof.
IMO trying to prove God is as silly as trying to not prove Him.
Hes not observable, and hes unfelt with the 5 senses, how can you even attempt to prove Him (scientifically) is beyond me.
Thats like trying to measure the infinite, with finite tools.
You either believe or you dont. And you leave it at that.

The damning lack of any and all empirical data to suggest the existence of anything even remotely godlike, let alone a god or gods, suffices.

A.Usually, because they were asked.
B.1. When I was kid/infant, they just simply said lets pray to thank God. Morning before breakfast, when we had lunch, when we had dinner.
Who is God? He Who provides the food.
2. Then I saw my granny praying ( when we visited her), wearing white veil in the corner of her bedroom. I was scared.
"What is she doing?" I asked. "She's praying to thanks God, that we are all healthy, we are all ....... "Mum said.
3. Since I was infant I was told to say thank you to God for anything.
So I asked Who is God When I was 9 or so. Then I started to learn, to wonder etc etc.
C. Sure some people whoever they are, Atheists/Catholics/Protestants/Budhists/Hindus/Paggans/Wiccans , like to discuss and or talk about what they think; Some of them like to convince other about what they think.
Whoever like this section are one of them, you and I included.

Well duh. If you can't prove or disprove then people go with whatever they prefer. People prefer what is drilled into them - doesn't have to make sense it's just what's drilled into them.
YouTube.com search for Bill Hicks, er maybe its Hix - well you get the idea. Sorry bible thumpers, his religion bashing is great.
