Baking soda is a good, natural exfoliant. It will help remove old skin cells so your skin will have a smoother texture but it won't help get rid of scars completely.
Some people swear by this aspirin mask: Crush up 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask. Or mix half a teaspoon of crushed, uncoated aspirin tablets with Queen Helene Mint Julep mask or aloe vera gel to use as a mask. Apply a thin layer to your face & let dry for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off w/ cool water.
The other thing you can do is to consult your doctor or a dermatologist about Retin-A or Differin. These prescription products promote cell turnover & stimulate collagen production. I've used both of these medications & they have helped dimish some of my shallow acne scars. Differin is a bit easier on my skin than Retin-A.
If you decide to try Retin-A or Differin, then be sure to wear sunscreen daily. These products make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

Use a mild scrub or exfoliant to remove any dead cells and expose the blackhead. Pat your face dry. Place a damp warm wash cloth on your face for 15 minutes to soften the blackhead, making it easier to remove. Place a piece of tissue on the tip of each finger to avoid slipping, which could tear the skin and cause further damage. Gently apply even pressure to both sides of the blackhead by pushing down, then up around the blemish. You’re trying to apply the pressure from the blackhead. Only try this 1 or 2 times. If it does not “pop”, you may bruise the skin, make the blackhead worse, and could cause scarring. Exfoliate your skin 2 - 3 times a week too. Clean & Clear Morning Burst scrub is my fave. Don't scrub too hard & dont use a heavy oily moisturizer on your face either. Cleanse your face 2 times a day, but don't dry your skin out. Cetaphil is good to use.

1. Eat healthy.
2. Wash your face atleast 3 times daily.
3. Use lesser chemical products on your skin as they clog pores unnecessarily
4. If you put on make up, check it's compatibility with your skin.
5. Go natural. There are a lot of ayurvedic medicines for acne like Evergel 90 by Prakruti JiyoFresh.
Peace!

I agree with "Treadstone".
However it does remove redness (well, reduces it). As for scarring it will make it fade. But over a long, long, long time.
The baking soda also removes blackheads, as well as acne.
And yes it will help you.

baking soda is very good. you might want to combine it with an essential oil for added benefit such as lavender or chamomile tea bags to reduce any redness and heal your skin. also any natural oil (not mineral oil) will help heal your skin, grapeseed oil and jojoba are good for reducing scarring.
