I truly believe that dreams/visions are messages sent to you by the spirit world. They are messages sent to guide us.

The case with your dream is that it is foreseeing the future. There is a reason that the two of you are best friends and that you have kissed and held hands. The possiblity is that he is "the one" that you are to be with.

I had visions of my soulmate on numerous occasions. I could see, hear, feel, and smell everything in this visions. I call them visions because a vision is when you can use the majority of your 5 senses in your dream. A dream is like watching tv with the mute button on.
