He's in eternal hell right now, wishing he didn't believe his own writings in this lifetime.

There is a verse in Psalms that says "The brilliance of man is foolishness to God .God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the "Intelligent"."
That about sums it up.God takes a young fisherman who writes in the basest of Greek,John the Apostle, and puts down one of the most brilliant pieces of literature ,full of grace and truth. Then someone claiming to "be someone" like Nietzche or Marx or even Reinhold Niebur and they look like clowns compared to the tremendous writings of the scholar Paul , Luke the Physician and yes,Job which was written about 2800 years ago. The greatest of early Kings David and the Psalms cannot be beat.

It's amazing how many of the people who answered this question have no more knowledge of Nietzsche other than he had syphilis and that he said 'god is dead'.

No wonder why you had so many enlightened answers.

As for the people who mentioned the very slim connection to the Nazis - that was his sister who was a rabid anti-Semite and a fan of the Nazis who soiled Nietzsche's reputation by rewriting his notes after he had died to make him look like a fascist lunatic. The fact was Nietzsche thought the Nazis were morons.

I found it difficult to accept most of Nietzche's philosophy especially as it came from the mind of a man who spent most of his time in a mental institution and it is reflected in his writings.

Some of his points were good. He's the one that said the Nazis had killed God and that was the reason for the Holocaust. I don't know about the rest of his teachings because I didn't study him extensively.

He certainly has some good points which can be misused. He had a great influence on Adolph Hitler and the develoment of fascist Germany. Oh, and by the way he was an atheist.

a mix of brilliance and madness...i find much of his 'philosphy' depressing...a big hit with black-clad drama queens and would-be coffeehouse philosphers puffing away on clove ciggies bought with the money from grandpa hubert's trust fund...

You cannot seriously expect home schooled inbreds to have more than a passing knowledge of his name, and that will be a stretch.

Christians aren't natural men, but they aren't supermen either. Only God can make a man better than he is.
