Check with the nurses or secretaries at your oncologist's office. They should have no problem with filling out whatever forms are necessary for the SSD office. We do it all the time at our Cancer Center and not just for stage 4 patients. Going through treatments is difficult, and sometimes it is impossible physically and/or mentally to keep working at the same time. The doctor will usually give a date range that includes time to recover from the treatment side effects, so hopefully that will give you one less thing to have to worry about. Good luck and God be with you.

I am so sorry to hear of your breast cancer. I was diagnosed with breast cancer myself June 23, 2006. I went through lumpnectomy, chemo, and radiation. A few months ago I found another lump and he said it wasn't cancer, but it was growing so I had it removed anyway. I was out of work for 6 months, but I had short term disability. Iam back to work, but Iam having great fatigue and muscle aches. Check with the SS website. I will be keeping you in my prayer. Keep the faith. Its hard but the Lord loves you and he will see you through this. Take care.

Yes I suppose you are fallacious to suppose she has been deserted. She could suppose awful, however she is not demise and there may be nothing they can do to make her believe less awful. Sounds harsh, however that's the best way it is. If she is within the last week of radiation, she is on the residence stretch - tired out, depressed, a bit of scared in regards to the finish of lively treatment and might be wishing for mommy is just a signal of exhaustion with coping. That is another travel for every body, some bounce back and others desire a longer time. But your spouse should be about to get back to most of her former life. Radiation should not be this painful - has she talked to her radiation onc about this? Your spouse could name her dad and mom, they possibly reluctant to call her in case she is resting. I think if she wishes her mom and dad there, she must ask them. You are a very caring husband. You will have to think about helping your spouse view herself as a healthful woman once more. It can be a good time of yr for that. To reply your query: having been via three rounds of breast melanoma, i would be there for the rough times (waiting for analysis and put up surgical procedure) but no i wouldn't be there always if considered one of my kids obtained it. I would believe them to name if they relatively needed me. However all people has their own approach.

You are only eligible for disability if you have BC that is stage 4 and then it has to be a certain kind. You can find out on the SS website.

You are also not eligible for disability of you can't prove you will be sick for more than a year or are likely to die within a year.

Sorry.

The criteria for getting social security disability is to be unable to maintain any gainful employment for a minimum of a year. You may be able to do this. It can be difficult to get. Many people end up getting turned down three times before they can go before a judge. It is ridiculous what people have gone through. But hang in there and get support as you go through this.

definite i think of you're incorrect to think of she has been abandoned. She ought to experience undesirable, yet she isn't dying and there is no longer something they might do to make her experience much less undesirable. Sounds harsh, yet that's how that's. If she is interior the final week of radiation, she is on the domicile stretch - drained out, depressed, a splash scared with regard to the top of lively scientific care and doubtless wishing for mommy is purely an illustration of exhaustion with coping. that's a distinctive trip for each guy or woman, some leap returned and others decide for an prolonged time. yet your spouse could be approximately to get returned to maximum of her former existence. Radiation should not be this painful - has she talked to her radiation onc approximately this? Your spouse ought to call her father and mom, they could be reluctant to call her in case she is resting. i think of if she needs her father and mom there, she could ask them. you're a very being concerned husband. you're able to think of roughly assisting your spouse view herself as a wholesome woman returned. that's a sturdy time of year for that. to respond to your question: having been with the aid of 3 rounds of breast maximum cancers, i could be there for the complicated situations (waiting for prognosis and submit surgical treatment) yet no i does no longer be there constantly if one in each of my childrens have been given it. i might have confidence them to call in the event that they actually mandatory me. yet all of us has their very own suggestions-set.
