The United Pentecostal church or UPC also known as apostolic churches also known as the Jesus only church has many odd beliefs. They believe wearing make up and jewelry is sinful and is doing what Jezebel did. However I always thought it odd the women could not wear jewelry but the preacher could wear expensive watches.
They teach that gibberish is speaking in tongues and is a heavenly or angelic language or a language of prayer while the bible in Acts chapter 2 says it is merely a foreign language spoken by people and people from that region can understand it. It was miraculous because the speakers were not from that area and had not learned it.
The UPC churches I used to attend did not want it's members to associate with people of other beliefs because it would corrupt them.

Despite your question being an incomplete sentence, I will answer. Not all Pentecostals ban the wearing of makeup and the watching of tv. Those who do just hold to the old ways, but most have come into this century. Blessings!

The UPC is a Holiness section
of the (umbrella) known as
Pentecostal. Pentecostals
are born Again/Baptized/but
also believe there is a 3rd
work of Grace which is a
Divine language where one
can speak directly to God in
their Heavenly language.
I really don't like to give out
these kinds of church doctrine
because I know how badly the
Lord will be ridiculed because
of it. But just maybe there is
someone that can understand
what I'm saying.
A Pentecostal can always
pray to the Lord in "tongues".
Some are anointed to give
messages to the Body of
Christ by the Power of the
Holy Spirit. Sad to say, this
gift is being lost from the
church because so much
unbelief has entered in.
The UPC church holds itself
apart from other denominations in order to keep its doctrines and teachings pure....inasmuch as
they understand the Word.

It is a personal decision. I am pentecostal at heart, & watch TV at times or put make up on at times.

Well, are the crazy snake handlers and backwoods fundies pentecostal? I think they keep their followers with the threat of fire and brimstone and have no need for make-up (makes them look to friendly-like).

PENTECOSTALS AS A GROUP DO NOT TELL YOU NOT TO USE MAKE UP OR WATCH TV. THE JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, WHICH IS A CULT, NOT A RELIGION, FROWNS ON ALL KINDS OF THINGS, LIKE CHRISTMAS, BIRTHDAYS, MAKE UP, AND TV. THEY ALSO SELECT WHICH PARTS OF THE BIBLE THEY CHOOSE TO BELIEVE. THEY ARE A CULT WHICH SAYS IT'S A SIN TO ATTEND ANOTHER CHURCH--THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO FIND OUT THE TRUTH.

The Bible warns not to be flashy, (look like a prostitute). I don't know for sure about tv's. But I don't watch it with all of the junk on it.

I don't have much time for TV or makeup. Besides, there's not much on. I watch a little.

Everyone that appears on TBN is a false prophet. The makeup and pink hair is the least of their problems (though it does look ridiculous)
