I am looking to purchase a down comforter, but don't know where to start? I bought one years ago and there were feathers everywhere. Could some suggest a website and what is the best type to purchase?

I agree with Veronica. Another good point about buying one at a local store vs on line is that if you do get one that leaves feathers all over, it was poorly made and you need to return it to the store right away (returning it soon after purchase makes it less likely that you'll be accused of damaging it during use). Also using a duvet cover over it decreases the number of times you have to take the comforter in for cleaning. A washable duvet cover can just be thrown in the washer.

I've only bought down comforters at Linens n Things and never had a problem with feathers. They were high quality. The Company Store (catalog) also has great quality down. Mine are only used as inserts for duvets but have been dry cleaned over and over and have not had an issue. So be careful where you buy and what your price is.

I've had good luck with the one I bought at Ikea a couple of years ago. No leaking down or feathers.

You might want to try Bed Bath & Beyond, their down comforters are really nice!! You won't have feathers everywhere. They usually have them on sale!!

my wife went on a mission from god to find the perfect down comforter and searched the world over and those were the ONLY two places that had them. so we bought two. one from each place...
