I love mushrooms I put them on everything but no in my family loves them!UGH! i like slicing them up and pouring white wine in them and letting them cook for while and then i place them over steak.
Why not take out the middle of them and make a wonderful crab stuffing and baking them?

Quarter them so they are "chunky" and not sliced. You might just half the smaller ones.
Put a good bit of real butter into a hot saute' pan with a touch of garlic. Add the mushrooms and cook until the begin to plump up. Add a little bit of sweet vermouth, a touch of brown sugar, fresh ground pepper and some oyster sauce. Thicken the "sauce" with arrowroot, or tapioca starch.

Mushrooms - cleaned, sliced or whole depending upon size.
Sautee in butter with garlic, shallots or chopped onions, parsley, salt and pepper.
(Optional) Add 1/2 cup of red wine and let it cook down.

Stuffed mushrooms:
Mix bread crumbs with fresh crab meat, parmesan cheese and mayo (only enough mayo to moisten).
De-stem mushrooms and stuff wtih crab mixture.
Top with mozarella cheese and bake at 350 degrees until mushrooms are hot and cheese is melted.

Love Mushrooms.
Mushrooms with onions and some red wine. Saute until liquid is evaporated. Good side dish.
