why do some Christians subject Jesus' teachings and neglect the rest of the Bible (notably the NT)?
I just read the Q on "gay Christians," using "Jesus never mentioned 'homosexuality,'" but neglect the rest of the Bible teachings on this and fornication, which falls in this category. Can anyone claim Paul was not well versed and knowledgeable in Scripture, since he visited the third heaven and received straight revelation from the throne of grace.
Why do we use what was not written and "taught" by Jesus in the gospels, but yet written in the rest of the NT?
The Bible says that not everything Jesus did could be written...

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
We say he created all things as God, but what happened to him then? Did he just disappear from the scene as Deity while the Father conducted the business of the Old Testament? Did he disappear again after his resurrection from the dead and have no bearing upon the workings of the early Church?
Minds should be opened to the truth that Jesus said things during his earthly ministry to us that bear witness to every word of God. The Old Testament teachings as well as the letters of the Church belong to Christ and all are justifiably taught as truth. Make no distinctions, rather, try to understand how all fits perfectly as God's revelation to us.

You're right Jesus did so many miracles that the world It's self couldn't contain them all. I think most Christians have the so called buffet type belief. They pick and choose what they want to feel comfortable with. But the Bible Is the True Word Of God...No Doubt ! It was written by men Inspired by the Holy Spirit. Jesus was very clear on what was acceptable. It wasn't the fearfull, liars, fornicators,Effeminate
(homosexuals)...etc..all these shall have their part In the Lake Of Fire.

I guess you saved yourself then. Because according to my Bible, you get grace for faith. Not because you are perfect ( you are not perfect are you?) , or live according to the approval of others, or make yourself into something. Faith is why we are saved. Jesus promised that, and left out anything about homosexuals as well.
What people like you are preaching isn't the Gospel, but a perversion of the Gospel. You are a pervert of God's word. You are also bearing a false testimony as to the will of God. Since you seem to revel in your rebellion against God, would you just go one step further and stop calling yourself a Christian?
I mean, if you are not going to preach the Gospel, you may as well be a Muslim!

This is basically the thought of my dad. He'll believe the Gospels, but he says that the rest of the Bible doesn't mean much because it was written by man. What I have to say about that is:
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"

If "Jesus never mentioned homosexuality" is their unbeliever's defense, then they should know that Jesus never mentioned rape, nor arson, nor cutting off people's body parts. Are all those things okay now too, according to their warped view?
Jesus lived in a time when homosexuality was widely condemned by the Jews, so saying that homosexuality was a sin, was not any more necessary than saying rape is a sin.
Jesus did say the last days would be like Sodom, and wolah, here we are, back in Sodom.

i'm a Hindu and pleased with it too. i do no longer think of that all and sundry muslims or christians are separatist. it is a few who ruin the call for all (that is going for some fundamentalist hindus too). those communities could desire to weed such people out themselves. And who instructed you that the rustic desires to be stored? And in case you somewhat are interested in saving our "us of a" then this style of disintegrating communicate is strictly what you may desire to refrain from. variety of religion, customs, religions, cultures, cuisines, languages, paintings, literature, etal, are the middle and soul of India. to save the rustic this precisely is what desires to be stored and preserved.

Paul wrote most of the New Testament. I think you see a big change in Peter teaching gentiles.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
