Not only do they have belly buttons, but the naval can herniate, just like in humans. It generally doesn't cause a problem but it is a good idea to keep an eye on it. The reason you didn't realize it is because they, as a rule, do not have "innies" and "outies", rather they most commonly have "smoothies", but they are there. If you've ever watched a female dog whelp a littler, you will watch her chew through the cord and just like in a baby, it will dry up and fall off. Mom usually eats it too.

Dogs have belly buttons, but they don't look like human belly buttons. If your dog has thinner fur on its belly, you may be able to find a small scar. That is where it's umbilical cord attached it to its mother's placenta. If your dog has dark skin or thick fur, you may never find it, but it is there. Everything that had an umbilical cord will have a belly button, even if it is just a scar.

Yes dogs have belly buttons they just don't look like humans. They look like a flat scar about two finger widths from where their ribs come together on their bellies. The older they get the harder they are to find.

My pug has a really cute belly button. My horses all have them. They are just below the ribs on the tummy. All animals have one.
