When I read the Bible, I sometimes truly wish I were a female, who would be a divorced Atheist lesbian feminist, who has had an unfortunate abortion, some premarital sex, who was about to marry her girlfriend...who also devotes all her time in working as a volunteer in an orphanage, simply to show that strange God how silly his morals are.
I'd wear a T-shirt that would say "Deuteronomy 22:28-29 are morals with a wrong twist, of course I won't marry my rapist!"
Anybody else have that feeling?

Yes, there are lots of things along those lines that I don't understand. Why didn't God speak against slavery? Why were the Hebrews the chosen people? How did the animals fit on the ark and how did they know where to go afterwards? Why is there not evidence of a world wide flood? How did the races develop from Noah's family? How did kangaroos get to Australia? Why did God command people to go to war?

When I read your question I felt lilke this:
I felt that Religious Empires have mistranslated and misinterpreted our loving ancestors so much that the contextual and original meanings of their messages have been lost. Exception: The Sermon on the Mount. - but even then you need to know what "blessed" meant at the time Jesus spoke those words.
(Of course it is not all their fault, it is partially the fault of otherwise intelligent folks (like you and me) who have, at times, failed to understand that "most" of the Bible is a History not an instruction book.) -- smiles
edit: Actually the Bible is simply a genealogy of the Jewish bloodline from Adam to Jesus. -- Proof all the names are Jewish names. Of course, who among us has ever looked at the Bible that objectively.

But God requires that rapist to marry you, just so he can rape you again and again and again. What's important is that that rapist make an honest woman out of you. Be a good religious woman and just sit there and take all that abuse quietly and without complaint. God's laws are forever.

NEVER FELT THAT WAY!!! I feel at peace as I am reading the Bible, and I can feel God speaking to me. You apparently don't know God personally or you wouldn't say that. God loves you even still, you can't make Him love you any less. I am sorry you feel that way. I truly am!

No... but I have the FACTS......!
(Jude 1:17-18-19) But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
(Jud 1:18) How that they told you there should be = mockers = in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
(Jud 1:19) These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
Thanks, RR
