I've seen some people unfairly targeted on this site by vigilantes who seem to think that the Yahoo officials cannot do an adequate job of policing this forum and feel it is their moral duty to do some self-policing.

It's one thing to go after those who are truly pornographic or truly trying to say something offensive. But it seems like many of my friends on this site have been penalized unfairly. I've seen many of the questions and answers they get violation notices for, and it would take a long stretch of the imagination to claim these questions were worthy of a violation notice.

So, I'd like to find out what types of questions I need to avoid answering or asking so that I can survive in this forum? In particular, I've know many accounts that have been deleted simply because they answered a troll's question.

So, Troll patrol, tell me, what questions may I have your permission to ask or answer that won't get cited?

I take it that you feel that you need to set the standards?

I think the entire report abuse button should be removed. A good forum has the ability to stay clean by itself.

I like the oportunity to answer racist questions, or offensive questions. 99 out of 100 won't even read my answer, but if we can change one racist or one hateful person, my coming here was useful.

Reporting people takes away my oportunity to do that.

Everything you said is 100% true.

That's why some idiot is going to give you a violation notice.

The thing I hate about that whole thing (besides the fact that it creates a fascist, paranoid mentality) is that you can't even appeal a violation.
You just get an email saying 'you violated the terms blah, blah blah' and then the question or answer is completely harmless other than someone didn't like your opinion.
So you click on the link that says 'if you feel this has been removed in error' and send them an email asking why. The next day you get a form letter saying 'read the TOS'. It's always the same letter they just change the name of the imaginary customer service tool.
At this point, when I get those I send customer service a string of vulgar curses. It's not like they ever answer anyway.

How many violation notices did your friends get that Yahoo cancelled their account? May be it is the seriousness of the violation in the answer. I think I already received 4. Thinking about what I said in my answer; I would say 2 of them would be consider serious. I answered a homosexual question and I told the gays on that forum, "you are lucky you was not born in the old biblical days. In those days, the Christian's were allowed to take the defiled sinner out of the city gates to be stoned to death!" Oops...........violated. Minus so many points. Did not answer like that again!

take a verify out the training section and love and romance. you think of that is undesirable in faith and spirituality? take a glance there. however I did observe that that is being wiped clean up slightly; after all, the training section has a large style of youthful teenagers on it. observe to Peace, Father, Fuzzy, others: what's being reported above is that there became into an unique Trask and fairly some others that got here after (inc. Trash); those are no longer the unique guy. nicely, i circulate to mattress. Wayyyyyy too overdue now. i will sense sorry approximately staying up this overdue the following day.

I agree with Mark. The report abuse is not really being monitored by anyone at Yahoo Admin so the "report abuse" option should be removed.

Then, and it seems only then, could we talk to each other and be honest in regards to what has offended us and what we have said that offended someone else.

Now ite seems we are afraid (or reluctant) to tell someone that we disagree with them because we fear we can lose our account because of the ability to retaliate against us.

A few months ago Acid Zebra, and myself and a few others vowed to never use the "report abuse" icon. Since then, most of us who made and kept that vow have had our accounts "suspended".

I only report the clones, those who make unwarranted sexually explict remarks, those who are profanely insulting, those who threaten violence and those who make certain remarks in reference to minors.
Yahoo does rely heavily on reports to police this forum...personally I think this is a crappy system.
As for what you can post without being reported...HAHHAHAH! People get reported for posting (((hugs))). Some got reported for saying "I'm a pagan", to someone who asked users what religion they were.
Anything and everything can be reported and all to frequently Yahoo doesn't discriminate between genuine reports and personal vendettas.
BTW...check your inbox in about 10 minutes, sending something you may wish to read.

Your observation is on target. Been the same with my friends.

As for me, the only people I've ever reported were in the Cultures section who were screaming racial hate and trying to incite others to follow in their bigoted footsteps.

I completely agree with you and I'll probably be reported for speaking the truth about Mormonism.

This is supposed to be a forum where religion can be discussed, but some don't see it that way, obviously.
