I don't think the link is working properly.
I couldn't bring it up.
For a beginner, a guitar should be easy to hold, and the strings shouldn't be so far above the fretboard that you have to practically stand on them to get them to the frets.
Seriously, go to a store instead of buying online, which is sight unseen. What looks good on the screen may be horrible in real life. I would recommend a Fender, as you can get a good model at a good price.

Jed made some strong points. Go to a reputable music store and seek advise and help from a guitarist there on what particular models are best suited for you. Alvarez makes some good quality, yet inexpensive acoustic guitars--to name just one of many.

I'd shy away from buying an instrument through the Internet unless you have tested the exact, same model.

Your teacher was right in recommending an acoustic to begin with. That will instill determination and motivation on your part to move up to, and beyond the calluses that must form. If you can go beyond the sore fingertips then you stand a chance of becoming a guitarist. Otherwise, you've simply bought a dust catcher.
