I had a natural miscarriage on July 15th and its been 7 weeks without a period I know I am not pregnant. I know it is natural that people go through miscarriages but I had been trying for 9 months before I got pregnant and I hate the waiting game already. My doctor told me to go in around the middle of September but how long has it taken you to get your period back after a miscarriage? I know if I don't get it by September I one way to start my period is back to birthcontrol but I really don't want to go back to that since my system was messed up for 8 months. Can anyone give me their story or any advice please I am desperate. Thank you to all

yes. It took me only 6 weeks to get my period back, but 18 months to get pregnant again. Your dr may try progesterone to get you going again, its not birth control, so it won't take as long. You ahould be back to normal by now. How far along were you? Did you miscarry naturally or need a d&c? All this can factor into your recovery time

I think that it is different for everyone. I had a natural miscarriage on Thanksgiving Day 2003, when I was also about 4 weeks along. I had been trying for 6 months. I don't know how long it was until my next period, or if I even had another one, but I do know that I was 6 weeks pregnant on February 13th 2004.

Try to keep your head up until you hear what your doctor has to say. Before I got pregnant the first time I had been told that there was little chance of getting pregnant, let alone carrying to term due to advanced polycystic ovarian syndrome, which under normal circumstances doesn't affect a woman's ability to bear children. In my case, my body doesn't rid of the cysts as it is supposed to so it makes it difficult for the egg to get to the womb. It may be that you have similar problems, or that your stress from trying to get pregnant is a factor.

I know it is hard waiting, but just try to keep in good spirits. I had actually given up hope or trying after the miscarriage and I now have a beautiful, almost 3 year old, little boy whom I love more than life itself!! The waiting is all worth it in the end!!
