I met my current boyfriend about a year ago, but he was too shy to ask me out. We lost touch and in the interim I dated another guy. I had sex with this guy, and it happened to be my first time. I have strong convictions about sex, but little self control and a lot of curiosity. I just sort of gave in, I was never in love with this guy and never saw a future with him. He is the only one that knows that I had sex with him. I never told any friends or anyone else for that matter. Unless he told some of his friends- we don't even socialize in the same circles, no one knows but him and I. I see myself having a serious relationship with my current boyfriend. He has the same strong convictions about a sexual relationship that I share. I know the right thing to do is tell him I am not a virgin, but how do I do it without sounding like I have a flippant attitude about it? Saying, "I was just curious", which is the truth, sounds a lot more harsh than, "I was in love with him."

Hey Michelle,
You're right, honesty is the best policy. If your current boyfriend gets all judgemental - then you're better off without him in your life right now. If he really loves you, then he will understand.
Good luck with it - i know it's tough. Stay true to yourself.

I wouldn't say anything at all. I know someone who's had sex and she never bled. When she had sex again with a different man, she told him it was her first. I know it sounds so bad but hey... you don't know either if he's had sex with someone else. He could just be thinking the same way as you are. Before sleeping with him if you do, I would get checked first to make sure you did not get any STD's that you may pass on to your boyfriend.

i think u should just say it.its best to be honest, always. hopefully he cares for you, and not your hole or v card. but be prepared, b/c he might see it as dirty and that was the only thing he was looking for. good luck.
