In my opinion, it doesn't only apply to writing. "The day I die is the day I stop learning" and other similar quotes. There's always something to learn, something to improve on for everybody. And you find those lessons in the most intresting of places. On a train, in a book, during a class, on a yahoo-answering website, everywhere.

I wholeheartedly agree. I've been a writer for a long time. While I am amazed at how much I improve, when I look back at what I've written it's nice to hear that my "voice" has the same sound.
